Title: All but 2 of my rescues are rehomed!
Post by: Hippykitty on February 28, 2008, 08:37:41 AM
Yesterday I rehomed the twins and Winnie to a lovely same sex female couple I have home checked and thoroughly vetted. Originally they were only interested in the ginger twins, but then sheepishly mentioned that they would also like to have Winnie. I was delighted. They already had three very well looked after and loved cats, and I know that they have gone to a good home.

Of the eight I originally trapped, I have only two left to rehome. I don't mind giving them longer to tame because Fred, the large male, is very nervous and needs more time.

Do any other peeps feel a little cat-shaped hole in their heart when one of their favourites is rehomed? I had a special soft spot for Winnie and will really miss her. Is this something you get used to? I'm pleased that she's gone to a good home, but I was a little in love with the little madame.

Thanks to everyone for all the great advice you've given. I imagine I'll be doing this again after I've had a little break once Fred and Victoria are homed.  It's been hard work, but lots of fun.

They've gone to a really quiet part of Henley in Arden. I'm not sure where you are Gail.

Miles away - I'm about 15 mins from Pauline @ Wellcat.

Quiet is fabulous - I am so please for them - I hope they send you photos once they are settled. I just wish all babes were so lucky.

I know if I had of come to see them at yours I would of got depressed knowing I couldn't have them.

Great news HK and it must be so hard when they go to new homes but at least you know the homes are good and they will be well loved and looked after  ;D

Wonderful news, and I love your last sentence, especially when you look back at how you were when you first started helping them. Maybe worth looking at rescues in your area to help with the costs? It doesn't matter how many cats you have in the house, when certain cats leave, the house feels different. My way of dealing with it is to help more cats!!
