Charlie has come home twice this week minus collar and disc. No one has rung me to say they have found them or anything. A bit bemused really
-
at least you know the safety release system is efficient
-
LOL
-
Meg was always loosing her collar, so i stopped putting one on her, don't think she'd let me put one on her now!
she had one as a kitten, one day she came in without it, the next day she came in carrying it in her mouth!! she had found it and brought it home
think she thought she'd caught something cos she looked so proud!!!
-
What a clever girl Chris wish Charlie would
-
I don't know how they do it - my friends Persian cat got given a brand new expensive collar, went outside, came back -without it! He was all happy and proud a bit like ''hey mummy, look how clever I am!''
-
Max did the same gave up when I started to buy 2 collars a week, 'cause he was new to the area I was scared people would think he was stray and take him in
-
Naughty boy :evillaugh:
Was he chipped when you had him neutered, would be worth doing just incase theres another "owner" out there
-
Yes he has been chipped but his collars have a lovely loud bell to warn the birds and so I can hear that he's about. Now on his third
-
Before i existed my mum acquired a ginger stray, he wore a budgie bell loud and proud :Luv:
Her other cat just learnt how to hunt without ringing it :evillaugh:
With bells its important theres no gaps for claws to get stuck in, ouch
Third time lucky! :luck:
-
One came home just now. One of the neighbours found it in his garden
-
Hamish and Misty used to be outdoor cats and they were forever loosing thier collars?? :-: We started to think someone was strealing them
but then thought they must be getting them stuck on bushes and pulling in opposite direction to get them off (they were never on that tight)
Just enough so's you could pull them over thier heads, I have now seen the Horrors of what collars worn the wrong way can do :(
and in future, If the area is right, and deemed suitable for letting Furbabes out, I would now have them chipped instead :)
never did find out where the collars went to, but between 5 Furbabes, we lost count of how many collars we had to replace

Bob used to tuck his chin down so the bell did not ring ... :evillaugh:
Claudius just ripped the bells off as soon as I attached them ... :(

Looks like Charlie has been giving Lukey a remote masterclass in collar losing techniques! Since I've moved I've put collars on the boys in the house as they will soon be going out into the catproofed garden (once I get the fences and catproofing put up!) for the first time so I wanted them to wear one as an extra safety net so to speak. Lukey keeps his on for all of 2 minutes, he's not at all bothered by wearing it I think he just pops it off because he can :innocent:
