Lucy was a timid and nervous stray that we took in in May 2007. She gave birth to three kittens and two of them have now been re-homed. Bruce is a typical 7 month old who loves to play, curl up on your knee and purr loudly! Lucy is much more timid, but has a lovely quiet temprement and just wants stroking gently and hopefully a large garden where she can sun herself in the Summer months! I don't have a picture on here of them, but if you visit our home a cat page on our website at http://adel.cats.org.uk you will see that Lucy is a tabby and white L/H and bruce us black and white L/H. They've been with us so long and we'd love to find them a home where they can flourish into the loving cats they are!

OMG! We visited a friend on saturday and he had a cat just like Lucy - only white with ginger and grey patches. I kept saying how stunning she was and I was tempted to cat knap her - Lucy is adorable and if I wasn't fostering.... How can they still be in rescue - madness!
-
Sorry can't justify homing with us much as I'd love to but these two are gorgeous. Lucy and our Freddie could be siblings and Bruce has such lovely markings. Really hope they find a home soon.

Hi Hun
Any luck with these two gorgeous babes?
-
Hey!
Unfortunately not :(
We had quite a few 'stickers' in the branch who we've managed to re-home which is great, but there are still a few who seem to want to stay with us! Lots of people aren't keen on having a long haired cat and also with Lucy being timid it's hard but we'd never split them as they howl if they're taken away from each other!
Thanks for the coverage though - fingers crossed!
-
Aww, I Can't believe they are still waiting, they are gorgeous.
-
Well, if everyone can keep their fingers and paws crossed for these two, as they are being viewed by a lovely girl we did a home visit for at the weekend - fingers crossed she falls in love with them as much as we have ;)
I'll update when I know more!
-
Keeping everything crossed and sending re-homing vibes for this gorgeous pair!~~~~~~~ ;)
Edited: changed vobes to vibes for extra help! :evillaugh:

Fingers crossed!!

Oh no!!! Thought they'd be snapped up by now! :(
-
Thats so sad. I would take them on but i think 6 cats is probably too much for me to handle.

Thats no excuse...I have 10! :evillaugh: ;)
-
I'm surprised as well, the mum cat is very, very pretty
-
These two are just soooo wonderful but they get overlooked time after time. Lucy has just started to let her fosterer stroke and fuss her (it's taken 4 months), but she has never hissed, bitten or scratched anyone, she just needs someone who's willing to let them come round in their own time :(
They constantly pull on mine and our Welfare Officers heartstrings as we don't know what else we can do :'(
-
I soooo want these two cats - pitty they aren't in Wigan - lol
Although I think OH would kill me or move out xxx
They are beautiful
xx :Luv2:
-
she is very like my Star who took ages to come out of her shell, when we first got her she tried to bully the other cats because she was so scared she wanted to get in first before they hurt her, same with us, she nipped for England! She is a lovely girl now who even wants to come to the loo with me!
-
We had one home visit for them but the girl said they were too timid :'( Since then we did another HV but they had dogs, kids and other cats and we didn't think it was right for them. That's it in a year though! I've put out requests in newsletters and on the web but there are always these ones that stick and we don't know why!
We would think of travelling furthur if the home was right if any one is interested ;)
We need somewhere with no kids (or ones that understood what Lucy was like), no dogs and other friendly cats would be fine. They need to be well away from busy roads, with a catflap fitted so that Lucy could come and go as she wanted diring the day.

Oh I want these 2 cats , but I live in Wigan. Boo Hoo. :'(
I have 2 cats and they are both ok (one is called Lucy as well)
Wish I was closer - I even have a cat door and a small garden for them to play in.
Dont think OH would be too impressed tho.
They are beautiful cats.
-
See if you can work on your husband a bit ;)
Will try to get new pics of them soon and so hopefully that might spark some interest!
The awful thing is that we've just taken in another very timid mum and one kitten and I can just see the same thing happening this year with them, people overlooking them time and time again - it's so sad, but i'm glad that our branch is unselective about the cats we take in. Our re-homing might be much slower than other places, but we take the ones no-one else wants lol!
-
OMG - Poppy & Leo are soooo cute too.
Think I will throw OH out and move all the cats in - lol
My heart is breaking - how can people not want these beautiful babies :'( :brokenheart:
-
Yep, Poppy and Leo are this year's Lucy and Bruce! Leo is just ridiculously cute and lovely.
We'ver just taken in four semi ferals which we're working on really hard and they're coming round slowly. Here's a picture of Linus, just one of them!
-
Oh Linus...... :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
Oh stop pleeeease - its torture for me.
I need to move, get divorced and buy a bigger house - I want them all :Luv2: :Luv: :Luv2: :Luv: :Luv2:
I got Tibby from CPL in Wigan about 7 weeks ago - he is so cute - goes out all the time - he is a dirty stop out lolx
Had Lucy since she was 7 weeks old - she thinks she is royalty - only takes us on when she wants - and jas no tail. Both are my Babies.
But I want more lmao xx
-
What a pity they're not in Sheffield! Such beautiful babies!
-
Hello :welcome: Jayms_fallen_angel
We would definately consider re-homing them to Sheffield and have done before when they've been special cats!
My e-mail is homeacat@gmail.com if you want more info. Here are a couple of updated pics of them...

Those two are stunners :Luv: cant believe they are still waiting for that patient someone to give them a chance :(
-
I will email you. Before I do take a cat or two on I do need to ask some questions, but with some good luck, maybe they'll have a home shortly.
-
These two are exactly the new additions I am looking for. They are stunning and cannot believe they have been overlooked for so long. I guess I can understand why the long hairs get over looked. I've owned cats for about 7 years and this is the first time I've felt ready to take on a long hair.
I so wish I was in Leeds now! Why cant I find them in Northern Ireland. Seems so unfair that some of us are looking for them and they are looking for new homes and we just can't match up in the right place. I really hope they get their new home soon.
-
I've a soft spot for lucy myself she is so like my star it such a pity they've been overlooked for so long
-
Are these poor babies still waiting?
-
Unfortunately yes!!!
I have to say that they love their foster home, but we really do feel that Lucy would benefit from a garden and therefore are holding out for the owner!
The sad thing is that we have a mum and 6 month old kitten who are very similar to Lucy and Bruce (they can't be touched or stroked yet) and we know that they'll be this years's Lucy and Bruce! We did thoroughly assess both though and they are infinately re-homable, but just need someone who is willing to give them a chance to come round. Having said that, Bruce is an absolute sweetie and runs to the door to greet his fosterer! Lucy will now be stroked and groomed and is a sweetie - she's never swiped, bitten or hissed, she's just shy!!!!!!!
-
Can't believe these two are still waiting, they are lovely, I do hope you have some success before the end of the year. Might be worth doing something on their write up mentioning how long they have been with you, and how nice it would be for them to be in their own home for Christmas.
-
We've actually taken new photos and changed their names as people are often put off with cats who have been with us a long time. We've advertised them on the web, on our newsletter, posters etc, but we have to just accept that there will always be long-termers and the right owners will come along. I guess it comes with being a non-selective branch and most of our cats coming from feral trapping!
