I think the time spent on Purrs is like one of those fun arithmetic things which proves that there must be more hours in a day or days in a year than there are really
Just looking at my time on this site and in under 9 hours will have been here 60 days.............24hr days! Thats 3 months since mid November 06!
Now as I sleep at least 8 hrs a day, say for a year thats.........counting on toes..................365 x 8 = 2920hrs which is over 100 days, so for 160 out of 365 days I have been either asleep or on Purrs!
Now I was doing last year, 4hrs a week at art classes for 30 weeks so thats another 120 hrs, so another 6 days, now meaning 166days of 365 used, I only have 199 days to go shopping which takes about 3 hrs each time, eat and cook, clean, wash, do my gardening, go to the beach in the summer and thats about 6-8 hrs each time, feed the cats, read, put out and bring in the washing and anything else I have forgotten, like hours on the phone and I dont reckon that 199 days is enough

Oh, now that is a scary thought Gill, because i have been on here for 39 days, 18 hours since June 12th last year - aaaaargh, gotta get a life ...., especially if I take it as a 24 hour day ..... :scared:
-
Yes bc yours is actually more scarey than mine
-
I'm at 12 days, 7 hours 28 minutes since Oct 24th :shify:
-
Total time logged in: 127 days, 15 hours and 3 minutes.
-
64 days and 15 hours for me :-[
-
but no start date Horza!!! that's cheating ... lol
-
Shameful the lot of you! :P
Mind you there is a few member's that to me are like part of the furniture here! :innocent:
-
My 15 days 16 hours may not seem much except that I am a relative new comer who joined late September last year. :-[
My puter is on during the most of my waking hours and very often I leave Purrs open all day as well though 8)

yes. I am amazed at the time too. Yet..........
What better could I be doing than spending time with friends? And, yes - I know, you are not friends. But you are people with whom I share a passion and, when other folks are not around you, well........
I am glad for this. I am one for whom reading (as in books!) is still a passion. I like the computer but I also know how addictive it is and how the kids (and we older ones!) would be better outside walking and playing and.... but am still glad of the contact. Used to be that we all only ever knew our own villages. Then the local towns. Then the nearest cities. Then the countries. Then we all went to war and then..... well, then we got back to knowing the villages and towns.
I do believe we get stuck here more than we should. I also know that for many with disabilities it is a better lifeline than the stupid tv. I also know that for many without disabilities but without family (and that happens in this time when we all move away) maybe it's a way of maintaining some sort of contact.
I am thankful for what I have learned here. But, as soon as weather allows, I will be back out there. Trust me!
Til then - thanks.
Spring will come.
-
Me an ol' timer. 16 November 2006. 55 days, 21 hours and 39 mins.
-
Yes thats another worry Dark Moon cos when the weather is better I never come on Purrs till its dark and still..................60 days nearly!
-
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah but it's 60 days and counting (DOWN!).
The days are longer!
The worst is likely yet to come but if we strain really hard, we can see the light..........
-
probably not kind to mention today was lovely and that the crocuses are making a gold and purple carpet in the local park then ...
-
Since November 16, 2006, 11:20:40 AM: 35 days, 3 hours and 5 minutes.
-
No - not kind.
I get enough of that from my sister in NS
Still, I shall try to suck it up and be happy for you.........
............
Still trying..........

sorry, it probably was a bit too harsh that one. My soul is still singing from the sight so i can imagine how impoverished you are feeling right now. But you get to celebrate the northern lights :wow: and the glistening of the moonlight on an icicle, and the fine crystalline feathers on the window and other joys of which we are deprived ....

talking about different things.
I am talking about time til spring. You are talking about time here. I'm wrong again. Yes, too much time (1 day, 30 minutes, so it tells me.)
Likely too long.
Bye for now

:agree: I like most of you lot more than I like my family and most of my 'real' friends ;D And definitely more than most people I spend the day with at work.
I can natter away about cats and you don't get that glazed look in your eyes (at least, I assume you don't... )
-
I think of peeps on Purrs as friends and miss you all when I go away for the odd day. Also you are right Susanne we can talk cats and look at cats as much as we like and there is always someone who will listen ;D

I registered Oct 2007 thanks to Sam contacting me on mymoggy.com when she saw my missing advert for Smudge. But as I was so depressed about loosing him I didn't start looking at it until November - since then like many of you have already said I have been in contact with some very nice people. It's hard to read the sad stories (I do now and again) so I like to keep my posts as light as poss as you will have noticed maybe. We need to laugh more and maybe be dafter than we are and it's very easy I think when we all love cats so very much. A handful of my friends have been great since Smudge went missing, like some of you they've been better than my so called caring family. I've been off work since end August with a bad back, which is very much on the mend now after a great deal of physio and then Smudge went missing in September which brought on a very bad case of depression but with the help of many of you and of course my darling little Bonnie I have pulled through and will be going back to work on 19th Feb (shame really as it's my birthday on 25th!!!). Not aloud to go on internet at work cos of idiots in office using it too much we all have to suffer now, so I won't be on during the day but I'll be on in the evenings and weekends.
WELL, after all that little lot..................... the answer to the question is 6 days, 2 hours and 46 mins - if I'm going by what is next to my name on the top of the page! Every minute is worth spending with you lot - THANK YOU. :Luv2: :thanks:
I never officially said hello to everyone so maybe this will do instead. Fed up of me now aren't you!! :evillaugh:
Mary and Bonnie and the missing Smudge.

Like Gill, I think of you all as part of my social group. Some of you are good friends, others are aquaintances. We bicker amongst ourselves, support each other when we are down and rally around when someone needs our help. How much better friends can you have? :Luv:
I would, however, be concerned if you were my only friends ... lol
Hugs to you all
BC, Esther, Shadow and Smidge

:shify: 11days 15hrs 59 min.................... if I wait for another minute it will be 11 days 16 hrs :naughty: since July 2007 thats not to bad is it

30 days, 23 hours and 22 mins - although I know it isn't strictly accurate, as i rarely log out and back in, I think it is set to 'forever' and I might have it open while I am on other sites, or (as I just have done) wandering round the house!! I dont have as much PC time as I used to, but one of my biggest reasons for spending so much time on the PC is that Molly is anti-social and lives in my bedroom, so if I didn't sit in front of the PC, I would rarely see her, and I like to have some time with her while I am awake and not trying to sleep. Zia is taking lessons off Molly too. I dont read nearly as much as I used to/would like though, am going to make a conscious effort to do that - but I do read more in the summer when it is nicer to sit outside sunning myself than in front of here.
