hi sorry i not been around for a while lots to do little time sort of thing but anyway am thinking weather its wise to get Tia micro chipped i know with collers no body seems to take notice of them and they also get lossed when cats manage to get them of. my question is if tia was to get picked up and moved from her normal ground out of the house and or taken by some one what is the chance vets, cat protection and ho ever else may treat a cat would they do a scann? she isn't old enough to go out yet well not in my eyes she is 6 months on the 13th feb and is yet to be spaded soon am in the prosess to get it arranged but any how thats my question

vets and cats protection would routinely scan a new animal. However if your cat is killed in a road accident then the odds are that the local authority may not do this. But if you do lose your cat you would of course be on the phone to them daily until you found her anyway, so that may not to be much of a problem unless they are particularly unhelpful. At six months she is well due to be spayed. Good luck, and do get her chipped. it is worth it for so many reasons ...

I would get her chipped at the same time as spaying her, most vets give a discount then.

My boy is indoor only, but I've just got him chipped, as you can never be too careful in my opinion.

My Vet discounts chipping with Vaccinations (only £5 when done with vacs)
It is so worth having her chipped - if a rescue picks up an animal without a chip then they re-home after a few weeks.
At least then you know that even if she looses her collar she can still be identified!

at the mo the vets would rather wait for her to be 6 months old which isn't till the 13th feb why i donno, so waiting to book her in Tia is very masgivous and cheaky (sorry about spelling) cat i have ever owned
from when i got her i have always said she is going to be spade tabby my 11/`12 yr old cat was done earlier due a accident years ago which resulted in her tail being amputated and leg being put in a metal frame from what i was told she found her way under my grandads bonnet and didnt know she was there and turned the engin on wasn't nice but she is doing good and been spade
