We Collected Gypsy from Desley this morning.
She is lovely! Unfortunately introductions didn't quiet go as planned as she managed to squeeze herself out of the room as we were going in with food and water. So she and Garfield have already met. Fortunately there hasn't been any violence, just some grumbling (mainly Garfield) Gypsy is staying out of his way (upstairs) and pops down frequently to see if he'll let her near.
So by accounts Its going as well as could be expected.
I know the rules so i've taken a few quick pictures. :pic sneek:

she is a very confident cat, she has already accessed all the rooms and windowsills, and even come to me on the couch!

:Luv: She's lovely! Well done and welcome home Gypsy!
-
Oh my goodness what a beauty, she could have also been called "Snowwhite" :) Cris's daughter Lucilla has always wanted a pure white cat she would go nuts over her if she sees her!!
Now Nicola your next assignment, Garfy and Gypsy pictured together!! :wow: (We are not making things very easy for you are we... :evillaugh: ) Well take your time for that, just when they are ready but that will surely be a gorgeous shot!! :Luv:

Gypsy is beautiful! :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

She is so gorgeous :Luv: :Luv:

OMG what a stunner. She looks like a Turkish Van ...be interesting to see if she likes water ... Vans love water and swimming!
Welcome to the Purrs family Gypsy :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Thanks everyone.
You can just see on the last picture Gypsy's eye problem. it's a little smokey and a little fleshly, quiet possibly a birth defect but she's still a lovely cat. she's really affectionate and her tail is amazing!
-
Awww, Gypsy is beautifull. :Luv: :Luv2:
-
Glad to hear you got home OK, and hope things go well with them - surprised Garfield was grumbling to be honest!! I do love her new name!! Glad they have both found their own space and hopefully they will get used to each other soon. She is a very confident cat - she will happily let strangers stroke her though!!
Sam - Turkish Vans have colour on them, Gypsy is a pure white. She does however, remind me of a Turkish Angora, but I doubt it with her history.
-
I can not believe how well she's settled in.
She is giving Garfield a wide berth at the moment, which is good. Hopefully that will allow them to get to know each other a bit slower.
She has also allowed me to stroke her belly!
Who'd have thought two cats that like tummy rubs!
Garfield is still coming to me on the couch for a cuddle which i was afraid he'd stop doing, so it seems as though he's taking it all in his stride.
-
here's Bob, my turkish angora, for a comparison (bear in mind he was 19 when these were taken). Well that's a bit small, will look for another ...

At least you and Chris no longer have to worry about scars from trying to work out if you are allowed to rub bellies or not!! I am glad to hear he isn't too bothered, and that she is finding her own space.
PS - you need to change your siggy now!!
-
siggy updated and making one on my puter for both of them.
When we collected Gypsy we were warned she was a fussy eater. Chicken and Turkey were considered her must haves.
Anyhow, I put down some turkey petit pate and garfield had some fishy felix. low and behold after Garfield had his see in with his tea I later found Gypsy digging in as well.
this morning they have both eaten half a chicken and turkey sheba each. obviously in different rooms, Garfield in the kitchen and Gypsy upstairs just to make sure they both got their own portion (also to make sure Garfield isn't being greedy).
there still some grumbling and staring out happening between them but they have survived a night without too many disturbances (Garfield woke me scratching the carpet at 3am >:()
-
IT is sounding good, and typical that she has tried to prove me wrong about her eating habits!! not the first rescue cat to have done that to me though. hope Garfy didn't do too much damage - I was disturbed at 12.30 by the fosters fighting, I panicked in case I had to separate the two of them, but they are fine now.
-
I am sure she is lovely but pictures in that 4 format just wont load for me :(
-
Me neither :(
-
I don't understand why you can't see the unless my webspace was down.
I've uploaded one directly to purrs for those having difficulty seeing her.

Cheers Nicola. She is absolutely beautiful :Luv2:

Tank you Gypsy. Now I can see her, she is beautiful. Welcome to Purrs as well ;D

Gorgeous cat, oh but those lovely white hairs hope she doesn't malt much. Nigel was terrible for leaving them, his DNA travelled the world with us. Once an unsuspecting friend sat on Nigel's favourite chair in black trousers and we had to hoover him before he left
-
My Bobcat used to avoid visitors. But if they were business men in black suits (real estate salesmen, mormons, etc) he would make a beeline for their laps and happily shed all over them. While they were distracted, Pavarotti (the siamese cat) would sneak over and pee in their briefcases .  Strangely enough they rarely came back a second time .... ;)

well after an undisturbed night of sleep, things seem to have settled a bit more.
although i must say it's Gypsy doing all the grumbling now, she also wants to go out and is crying at the door. Sorry Gypsy you have another 5 1/2 weeks to go!
I do have a picture with both of them in it, Garfield eating on the floor and Gypsy eating on the windowsill.
Garfield seems to have resigned to the fact she's staying and his is usual i'm all over you self again, he came to me on the counch for some lengthy fuss last night, no hiding! (apart from the few hours after hoovering)
-
What a shame she is grumbling so much, and trying to get out, I do hope she settles soon. Glad Garfy doesn't seem too put out by her!!
-
Garfield gets a little scared when she grumbles (normally as he's trying to walk past her) aside from that he looks curious.
Gypsy seems more interested in upsetting him and trying to get out. luckily it's winter so all the windows are shut. she's lovely with us just not accepting Garfy yet.
Chris does get a little jealous when they come to me and not him though. but then he doesn't go out his way to reassure them. it's me that spends ages sat and laid on the floor encouraging them to come to me. (not at the same time obviously) also i'm at home alot more than him.
i feel it's probably going to take a few weeks for them to become friends.
-
I seen her now ands she is lovely ;D
-
Slowly does it!
They are getting closer to each other progressively, so far the closet they've been to each other is Gypsy on my lay and Garfield rubbing my feet (Gypsy grumbled but it didn't deter Garfield - My feet must smell nice!)
Unfortunately as my lap was occupied i was unable to get a picture
