Title: Goodbye Sylvester
Post by: nellie jones on January 30, 2008, 11:17:25 AM
Thankyou to all of you who helped by `chatting` to me when I first found out that Sylvester had cancer.
Well, This morning I had my darling Sylvester pts. I know it will take a long time for the hurt to heal, but he was dying, and I took the decision not to let him suffer anymore- was it the right decision? I think so, for his sake, but it is was the HARDEST decision I have ever had to make!
At least now he is at peace, I know I could have let him carry on a few more days, a few more weeks maybe, but he was sad, and the little things he so enjoyed doing were becoming a struggle for him! I have asked for his ashes to be returned to me and I will plant something in the garden that he loved in his memory, maybe there is a rose named Sylvester, I will look.
Rest In Peace my wonderful friend, you have left a big gap in my life, I only hope your `afterlife` is as good as the one I know I gave you.

Nellie,

so sorry to heat that Sylvester has passed over to the bridge.  You did the right thing and he will always be with you in your heart

Maybe the following website might be of interest : http://www.name-your-own-rose.co.uk/   Here you can name your own rose so you will always have a "Sylvester" in your garden.

Take care hun.

RIP Sylvester ... much loved and sorely missed by your Mummy.

  The hardest decision to make is to let them go.  You did the right thing in putting his needs before yours but it doesn't make it any easier to bear.

RIP Sylvester.

Oh I'm so sorry Nellie.  When we hadn't heard from you I hoped it was good news but sadly that wasn't to be.  You did the right thing - if he wasn't enjoying life anymore then it was time to go.

oh Nellie, Im So Sorry to Hear about Sylvester :(

but you did the right thing, It is never easy making the decision, but we all have to do what we always do for our Furbabes.
the thing thats best for them
I was the same with Hamish, Do not dwell on the what if's, that doesn't help. I'm sure you did all you could, but that time
comes to us all. Try to remember that you gave Sylvester a wonderful Happy home and all the love he could've ever needed
just remember that when it was His time to go, that you were strong enough to help Him leave the pain and suffering behind,
and that He's in a Better Place now

It will be Nearly 5 month's since my Hamish went to the bridge, It is a lot easier now, but I still have off days, and
I still Miss Him Terribly :'(
It is just a matter of time when the memories you of Sylvester have will be good one's,
and the final days will be pushed to the back of the mind

I know Hamish will take care of Sylvester and show him where all the best Butterflies are
along with all our other Furbabes who are at the Bridge......
