I need help.
My lot have fleas and I have used spot on treatments and treated my flat.
They keep coming back.
Is there a safe medicine I can give orally which will kill them ?
They are long haired so the spot on wasnt as effective as I would have liked
thanks in advance.
-
Exactly what treatments have you used?
-
Was the treatment a spot on fro the vet?
-
Sorry it was frontline combo from my vet.
-
Presumably it was flat treatment also from the vet?
If so I am a bit lost cos that should have done the trick.........all I can suggest is ask the vet.
-
I did see dead fleas on all my cats, but a while later there was more.
I have vaccumed and sprayed with RIP flea spray. Yes got all the treatments from my vet.
I have 4 cats and it would be really expensive to keep using frontline.
Guess I may have to consider removing the cats for the day and fumigating the place lol.
I just feel so sorry for them. It must be horrible.
There are only a few (5 or 6) each time I brush them but they keep coming back.
its so frustrating.

Got to be honest, I have never heard of RIP flea spray (although just had a look and it is on the VetUk website)
I would try Stronghold Spot-on, You will need to wait a month after using frontline.
For the house i would use Indorex or Acclaim house spray
-
I use RIP and Frontline but tbh I have house cats so I don't really have problems. You can buy Frontline cheaper than the vets from VetUK (please use a rescue link).
These days I do Smokey(persian) monthly pretty religiously (he has a flea allergy) and Josh(BSH) every two months.
I also bathe Smokey about every eight-twelve weeks as long as it's not cold. I find that helps too.

I would also use Stronghold ansd Acclaim

Mine are indoor also ;) but that didn't stop my mates dog bringing them in >:(
for months we argued about it, eventualy he conceded that as I stay on a second
floor, there was no way the Fleas could jump that high :evillaugh:
these things can drive you to the madhouse !!! :censored: :censored:
good luck with the fumigation's :)

Fleas can jump pretty high and hide pretty well.

I have 5 and Frontline them every month. I get mine from VETUK, its only £15 something, where as at my vets its £27. For a 6 pack.
