She's 18 and for the last couple of days seems to have been having trouble peeing, plus completely uncharacteristically has peed in areas of the house not intended for peeing ;). She doesn't seem out of sorts particularly otherwise, tho she has had a few vomiting incidents, which have always happened with her because sometimes she wolfs her food down without chewing then honks it all up.
However what with her age I know there is the possibility it could be something else.
There is no blood or pink tinge in the urine she does pass or in the dots of urine she has left around the house. She isn't drinking more than normal.
The trouble is I'm not able to go with her to the vets ( human baby daughter has just had a small op and just come out of hospital and can't go in car ), my husband ( who is cat mad ) will be taking her, it'll be so odd not to be able to go and ' hold her paw ' myself.
Anyhow I really hope it is just cystitis.

Ahhh poor baby .. it does sound very like cystitis .... fingers crossed that's all it is.
-
Hope she is ok, I have one suffering with Cystitis at the moment so know what its like xx

I had a cat at the vets on Xmas eve with cycstitis and the vet was trying to say it was stress related......I wonder if anti-b's will work for my stress as they cleared it up with no probs...
Sounds very much like cycstitis so I hope she feels tons better after the vets! ;)
-
Wishing your cat...............whats her name...............the best of luck at the vets and hope that she will get better soon

Thanks everyone.
She has hyperthyroid, heart murmur and the cystitis.

What is her name?

Fluffers, she's a short haired brindle :)
( Not named after anything to do with the adult industry btw ... ).
-
Awwwwwwwww Fluffers sounds lovely and hope that the cystitus will go quick ;D

poor Fluffers. Hope your OH gets the vet to sort it out and she's feeling better asap.

Thanks :)
The vet was good apparently, she's had an injection to make her more comfortable and we have tablets to give her.

I thought thyroid tests took a week, is there a new way? :wow:

No, no new tests, her glands were ' corkers ', and although she has always been tiny ( never grew bigger than the size of a six month kitten, and is very short bodied and short generally ), there has been some weight loss.
To be honest, and although some would disagree with our approach, which we have not employed for other cats, she is so afraid of vets, and old and happy otherwise that we have chosen not to have any invasive testing for Fluffers.

She slept the majority of yesterday and last night seemed to still have difficulty peeing and leaving deposits when she sat down but the deposits were greater than before so somethings happening.
