Title: Update on Penny and her diabetes

The vet has just rung to say that Penny's fructosamine level is 399 and a normal level is 341, so they are not too worried about her at all.  They are going to change her diet to the Feline MD and then re-test her in 6 weeks to see what level she is.  With regards to her Eczema and the steroid injections (which probably has caused her to be resistant to insulin), she said that we have to think about her quality of life, and as she tears herself to bits scratching because of the Eczema, then the steroid injections will still be the best thing for her to have, along with the MD food.  its going to be a case of monitoring her for a while.  Thankfully she does not need injections.

Glad the news was good.  She looks very sweet peeking out from under the bedcovers

glad the news was good, my friend has a cat with a bad skin allergy who has a fair few steriod jabs, I know she has looked all over for different foods to try, last I heard it was venison and pea!  Hope you manage to get it under control
