Edgar is an 11 year old seal bicoloured Ragdoll. He was born in December 1996. Oscar is an 11 year old Brown Tabby Maine Coon and was born November 1996. Both boys are neutered.
Edgar and Oscar came into the the care of the UKRCC on 19th November, following the death of their owner.
They have both been fuly health checked. Both tested negative for FIV and FeLV and their geriatric blood tests were within the normal range , so there is no sign of liver or kidney disease. They also had thyroid tests, but these were normal. They are due to start a vaccination course in the next few days.
We were very concerned about a tumour in Edgars nose and did fear the worst, but the news regards this is very good. It is a benign tumour which has grown due to an abnormal inflammatory immune response and is now being treated with one tablet a week.
Oscar has a heart murmur, but the vet feels this may have been present from kittenhood and is not unduly worried.
Both boys have settled well with their foster Mum, Beth. Edgar is the more outgoing of the boys and he integrates well with Beth’s cats and the dog. He is gentle and friendly. Oscar is more quiet and although he has free access to the whole house now, he chooses to stay in one room and spends much time in his donut bed. He is gentle and happy to be groomed and handled.

As you will see from the photo the benign tumour, has caused a disfigurement of his face and a problem with his eye, which waters. He also breathes noisily, but the medication has brought about some improvment and Edgar is doing well. He is eating well and gaining weight.

We very much hope that someone will feel they can offer these boys the loving home they need. They deserve a forever home, where they can live out their twilight years, being loved and spoilt
Oscar and Edgar will need a quiet, child free home, where they will receive lots of love, care and attention. They have been used to having outdoor access, so will need a secure garden, well away from busy roads. They are life long companions and so they must be homed together.
If you can give a life long commitment to Edgar and Oscar and have the love and care to give them, to make their twilight years happy and comfortable, please complete our online form.
Thank you.

What a shame for poor Edgar too... bless his wee heart. Really hope they find their new home soon.

So after much deliberation and moping about by me the OH has agreed that we can get a pair of cats now rather than waiting. :naughty: The potential plan to re-locate is now no longer happening and he is going ahead with business here so ....that means yours truly can look at filling my home with the joys of a fur baby! It has been nearly 5 weeks since my wee man was PTS and I think I was kidding myself on thinking I could wait until the spring!
Anyway I had saw these two babes back in December and assumed they would have been snapped up by now and see they haven't - so I have filled in an application form with the UKRCC for them. I realise I am probably not suitable as I don't have outdoor access but fingers crossed for me - you never know! :Luv2: They are just adorable and if I am not suitable then I hope they find a lovely family soon - how could anyone resist! :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
oh well done yuo for working on the OH lol ;)
Fingers crossed for you. Personally I don't think it really matters on the outdoor access. So long as you can provide them with the love, care and stimulation they need.
Keep us posted Kelly on this two. Fingers well and truly crossed. :)
-
fingers crossed for you!
-
Oh I love it when there's happy news on here! I'm sure the outdoor thing wouldn't be too much of a problem, they're just going to be retiring into a comfy warm home! :Luv:
Let us know how it goes!
-
What a wonderful news for everyone concerned!! ;D I am so happy for you, enjoy the new slavedom with these lovely sweet babies Caledonia, keep us posted!!

Thanks and will keep you posted - but not heard anything yet so don't want to jinx things lol!!! :wow: It maybe won't come to anything - just trying to be patient (hard for me!! lol!) and see what happens!
-
Oh I think I am turning into impatient Annie lol! UKRCC are going to be in touch soon to discuss my suitability with this lovely pair....except I am learning that I have the patience of a five year old waitng to start school it would appear lol! I know all good things come to those who wait ! :briggin:
-
Aww bless you. I am sure Helen will call you soon and have a chat and then sort out a home check.
-
Got a call this morning lol - so balls in motion. Boys are getting their final vaccinations this week and Oscar needs a tooth removed then hopefully (fingers and toes crossed), if everything is ok with the checks they will be ship shape and ready for their new home with me ;D ;D ;D.
Oh it will be so nice to have a fluff ball in the house again and this time there will be two - I can't wait (fingers and toes crossed - again lol!!) and I will have an update on as soon as I know anything.

I have my fingers crossed for you too.

We are all home safe and sound. Edgar is strolling about like he has always lived here and already been head butting and lying on his back for a belly rub. He is also following me about and just gave a wee cry from the top of the stairs to see where I was lol!! :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:
Oscar has not really ventured out from under the kitchen table although does peep out for a little stroke and it purring away.
I am sure in a few days they will both be right at home.
Both eaten and had a drink - just waiting for some litter tray action then all good!! ;D
-
Blimey! What a result. Best wishes for you and your new family
-
They both seem to have landed on their feet - litter tray now used by both and both just been curled up on couch next to me sleeping and snoring. Loving it!!! :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:

Aww, so glad to hear this
-
Aww how lovely that they have settled in so well. So sorry haven't been on here for a few weeks but was in hospital.
-
Sorry to hear you were in hospital Kelly-Joy - hope your feeling better! ;)
Yes the boys have really settled in now - more so every day in fact. Oscar has now decided my bed is his fav sleeping spot and Edgar is getting brave and jumped on the kitchen table lol!!
So I have you to thank for your appeal on here - if it wasn't for that I may never have applied for them! :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: a million times over
-
So gald you have found your perfect fur babies. may you have many many happy years with them spoiling them rotten just as they always should have been ;D And thank you for taking them on we did not have one other person ask about them guess thats thier loss though and your gain ;D
-
I think I am def in danger of becoming a rag doll addict already.
Oscar is lovely and quiet and just likes to sleep and curl up next to me on the couch - but Edgar (mr Ragdoll) - well he is something else! He literally follows me everywhere and most nights wakes me up half way through the night with head butts and licks all over my face. He lets out a little meow to find out where i am when he can't find me and gets up on h is hind legs for a treat whenever he can - hilarious and very lovely! :Luv2:
-
Forgive me for a little kitty indulgent moment but since we are looking at all these handsome chaps that have been rehomed/are being rehomed I thought I would post some news pics of my boys. They have been with me for four weeks now and were found through this very thread thanks to an appeal from Kelly-Joy.
Here they are curled up together - I came in from the shops Friday to this bless

And a wee close up of this face - he is on new medication for his tumour and I really think his face has improved (but I am biased!!)
