I seem to have a bit of a cat burglar problem :shify: Candles keep disappearing from places only to reappear in other places. He's really obsessed with them. I'm sure he keeps trying to nibble at them too :scared: :scared:
On a plus side I do have a lovely smelling cat ;D
How concerned should I be and how much trouble should he be in ...
-
I would not have thought an un-perfumed one would be a problem unless he was chowing down on them (in which case i would expect it to plug him up rather drastically). but scented ones I would want to know what the perfume source is as some scents are chemically based (as opposed to essential oils). Even then I would want to know the flowers in the mix as we all know that lilies are not good!!
-
just be careful he doesnt get too addicted and go for lit ones as well :-:
-
Lukily for him they don't get lit except in powercuts (which aren't all that common), since I have a massive phobia of fire. I'm not comfortable being around any type of flame.
I think the candles are either cinnamon or orange scented  I'd much rather him stick to pinching my tangerines, apparently candles are much more fun.
-
i dont like fire much really either. learnt too much about it at uni - too scary. love candles though. its a dilemma!
-
dilemma here too, as I trained as a fire-fighter so am too familiar with the risks. Really only use in the bathroom, and rarely then cos I stress about the shower curtain - how sad am I? :(
-
How strange, I'd have thought that orange and cinammon were two fragrances a cat would avoid!
I think they do things like this to keep us on our toes...

I have an odd cat. Before I got him and was reading cat things I read that cat's can't taste sweet things. Someone needs to tell him that because he's always trying to thieve biscuits, cakes, sweets. He's rather fond of belgian buns (without the raisins) and trifle :scared: Yesterday he poached my tangerine and was playing with it, then started linking is lips as I started to eat it.
-
:wow: wow jo!!!!!!
jasper has a serious sweet tooth too - weirdo!
-
If you dont use them regularly i would put them away, will ruin his fun but no danger then. The chemicals they use wont be great for him.
I tried to eat tealights once, very difficult to swallow
-
Ted my fat cat will eat anything, he will be sitting there looking at me eating so I put my fork near him thinking he wont eat that and he does everytime.
-
I just found another candle missing and have no idea where it is, they look nice around but if they have to go they have to go.
Oh Memphis has been helping himself to Molly's bone (which is about the same size as him). When I told him to leave it he sat licking the blood off the bag  Then he went and joined her and both were tucking in to each end of it. He did that with the Turkey neck at Christmas and practically ate all the meat first :evillaugh: The boy seriously thinks he's half lion and this is the serengeti.

Hes all big cat just in a small body ;D
Taz would like to add that its a reportable offence to give a bone to a dog and not a wing to the cat! Tut tut
