Hi Everyone,
We're desperately looking for help for a cat called Billy. :help: He's a lovely big ginger boy and he's been with us for nearly a year now. Sadly he's been overlooked all this time as he has become more and more grumpy being locked in the pen. We took him to a new home 2 days ago but we now have to have him back as the lady feels that he's not the right cat for her!! It's going to be really heartbreaking to bring him back to the pen and we're hoping that someone out there might feel sorry for him and offer him the home he deserves. It will take time for Billy to settle so we'd like to find someone who isn't looking for an 'instant' cat and understands that he might take a bit of time to adjust to a new home.
If there is someone who could help PLEASE call us on 01273 422721 as it's very quickly looking like it might be cruel to keep him in the pen much longer and the alternative is unthinkable right now but may well become neccessary if we can't find him his new home.
Thanks Everyone,
Ron

Oh Ron I remember him from one of my visits he was lovely - what were the problems with his home?
-
Hi Ron :Luv:
Will pop darlin Billy on the news flash front page. He will be in my prayers to find a loving home quickly. :Luv:
-
Everything seemed to be going fine until he kept her awake the first night wanting to sleep on her bed and then he supposedly scratched her when she woke him up on her lap. He can be grumpy but he's not vicious and was probably just startled when she woke him up. We really don't think she's given him enough time to settle and get used to the new home but we have to take him back unfortunately. Very Sad.
-
What a handsome boy!
Hope he finds a permanent home soon.
-
What a gorgeous lad. :Luv: :Luv:
-
what a shame, any chance you could chat someone up at the argus?
-
Poor Billy :( If he's so miserable in a pen do you have any local fosterers Ron? Maybe he could be a top cat on Cat Chat too?
-
Oh what a crying shame! - I wish people would be more patient about taking on a rescue cat - 2 days is nowhere near enough time for him to settle and for her to decide he's not the right cat, blimey its like buying an item of clothing getting it home, and then thinking, oh no this isnt quite as nice as I thought, I'll just take it back - makes me so cross >:(
-
Ron, I'll put a plea out for him, hopefully someone will come forward
Modified to add I've done a plea for him and sent it out.
-
Heartbreaking. I wish I could offer him that home. He looks wonderful.
Do you have much of a history on him Ron? Can he be homed with other cats, does he need outdoor access etc. May help to find him that home for the plea.
-
This is so sad, he looks like an adorable lad - how old is he?
I truly hope a forever home is found for him, poor little boy :(
-
How sad, my cat got on the bed for the first time last night and we have had him since August  Cant believe she only had him two days and gave up. Hope he finds a new home soon.
-
Just a thought, but maybe Blackcat would like to foster him until a home is found for him as she did offer to foster the other two from Croydon :shy:
-
Hi Dawn, I have phoned Ron and he is considering the offer at present. So we will see what happens. He looks a realy sweety and ginger to boot! :wow:
-
Awww that's fab news BC, my plea has gone out now as well so fingers crossed that something can be sorted for him :wish:
-

Fingers crossed
-
thanks for the vote of confidence guys ... :Luv:
-
Hey BC, if you lived closer, I would soon have that spare room of yours filled up :evillaugh:
-
2 days is no time for them to settle :'( I hope they arent offered another cat
I would love to have him and a million others but sadly 8 is enough at the moment
good luck with him
xxxxxxx

Hey BC, if you lived closer, I would soon have that spare room of yours filled up :evillaugh:
    I do know how to say 'no' Dawn    but i have to say if I was not working, in fact when I stop working, then fostering sick or homeless animals is likely to be high on my agenda I have to say ... :shy:
-
    I do know how to say 'no' Dawn
I am very persuasive when I want to be :naughty:
-
and I am afraid I am a sucker for a sad story, so good thing you are a long way hence!!
-
Two days and already he had wanted to cuddle with her and be a friend and she chucks him out, oh boy if I had met a cat like that after Kocka went to the Bridge they would have been so welcome. Two years on and one I still cant touch and the other will never be a lapcat but I love em to pieces.
I dont think she should have a cat.
I hope that he gets a loving forever home very quickly and know that bc will look after him so well if he is fostered. ;D
-
I forgot to ask has this been cross posted on Cat Chat?
-
    I do know how to say 'no' Dawn
I am very persuasive when I want to be :naughty:
I can vouch for that

I can't believe this (well I do but you know what I mean). A cat that wants to sleep on your bed and sits on your lap in the first 2 days sounds like a perfect cat to me. There are loads of people on this site who have given homes to rescue cats and are in seventh heaven when kitty actually allows them to touch. This is soooooo sad. Good luck with finding a forever home and  to BC for offering to foster.
-
Great minds think alike Gill - you beat me to it :Luv:
-
I've had a look on CC and can't see it on there :tired: I'll give Ron a ring and ask if he wants me to put it on there for him :shy:
-
Fingers well adn truly crossed for wee BIlly.
I adore gingers I have to say. :Luv: :Luv2: :Luv2: It is rediculous how some people behave when taking on a new cat. As you say they want an 'instant' cat... which yes OK that can come along but when they have been penned for as long as Billy has... I mean what do they expect! >:( Really makes me mad when people's attitudes are like that!!! >:(
-
I've posted this on CC now :wish:
-
Great Dawn cos I would have posted for Ron but have only been on puter a short while.
-
I have had an email off someone offering Billy a home, she has 6 cats already and is waiting for Ron to get back to her, fingers crossed this all works out :wish:
-
Oh good news Dawn - I guess this means i can go to bed now ... ;)
-
I have had an email off someone offering Billy a home, she has 6 cats already and is waiting for Ron to get back to her, fingers crossed this all works out :wish:
Got everything crossed this works out ;D
-
I'm not sure what's happening yet so until we hear off Ron, we won't count our chickens :shify:
-
I guess this depends on whether Billy would get on with 6 cats especially after being in a pen so long. I would have thought being the only cat sounds more like him .
-
That is so sad - he looks like a lovely fella.
Why bother adopting a cat only to dump it back at the rescue when you don't fancy making the effort! >:(
I really hope things look up for him. Maybe even a temporary foster situation where he will be in a home environment?
edited to say - I just realised others have suggested that - doh :evillaugh:
-
I spoke to Ron earlier and he thinks he may be okay with other cats unless they go for him. We will just have to wait and see what is decided but at least we know he has at least got a chance now either in a foster home or forever home.
-
Sending positive vibes for Billy~~~~~~~~~ ;)
-
Aww, fingers crossed for him, I can't understand why he has been overlooked for so long, gingers are quite popular round here (and we dont get many of them).
-
Any news on Billy?
-
No Helen, I haven't heard back as yet. Am out of contact for the next three days so if they want to place him with me as a fosterer they probably need to move quickly. Still, perhaps they have found a forever home and have just been too busy to let us know.
-
Let's hope we get some good news for this darling boy.
-
Ron, any news on Billy? I've had an email off Wendy again who offered him a home and she's still waiting to hear from you :-:
-
BILLY SENDS A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL WHO OFFERED TO HELP HIM :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: Yes Billy has at last found a forever loving HOME with the help of purrs and cat chat :cat laugh: two lovely people saw his plight phoned up to find out more about him and offered to give Billy the forever loving Home he had waited so long for, they came and saw him and fell for his good looks straight away, they had all ready brought him a new bed and scratching post and toys. i will keep you all up dated on Billy, and post photos of him in his new Home thank you ALL Ron :thanks: :thanks:

-
Oh good news Ron, glad he has a forever home ...
-
Excellent news, hurray for Billy. :)
-
Up date on Billy, Billy found his forever loving home after being in my pen for months, the bad news is that his bad eye has still been playing him up all this time, after going back and forth to the vets for treatment they have now removed his bad eye he had the stitches out last week, he is now back to his old self and a lot happier, his owners really love him and are soon moving to a new house, so Billy will soon have his very own garden to play in witch he has waited for so long. :yesss: :yesss:
-
Thats wonderful ;D
-
Fab news about Billy...glad the op went well! ;D
ps...hope you are fine also Ron?
-
Poor Billy losing his eye but I'm sure he'll feel a whole lot better :ahh: I had a little one in the vets last week that had to have his eye removed, I'll be picking him up in the morning. They seem to cope a lot better than us humans would and I'm glad he's made a full recovery
-
Aww, glad he is doing well and in a new home, I am sure his eye will bother him much less now.
-
I'm sure he'll feel better now and it's nice that he has a new home :)
-
Good news that Billy has landed on his paws again!
