Title: Why is Sheba so expensive?
Post by: Gwen on January 03, 2008, 23:16:23 PM
Its only 4% meat, just like felix and whiskas,I was just looking up some puddy food for me to purchase and sheba domes are £7 for 12,do you think they have us paying more for fancy packaging more than the actual food? :shify: :shify:

I think with any commercial brand that you get at the supermarket it is wise to do a compare and contrast - as you say, the packaging is a sales gimmick. If people are silly enough to pay the extra thinking they are giving their pets posh food, then they are fair game. If you are serious about your pet's nutrition, you read the label anyway.

That and Gourmet Pearl have always been more expensive, and they make people think they are giving their cats better food cos of hte price, but they are just as poor as Whiskas - but Felix's As Good as it looks doesnt have any better ingredients than normal Felix. For people who dont know a lot about nutrition, they will think they are doing the best for their pets.

Yup and they have a lot of upmarket advertising too. My cats generally lick the juice off when we give them Sheba ( domes ) and leave any solids, the little tinkers.
