Title: Now christmas has gone, the chaos has started
Post by: Dawn (DiddyDawn) on January 03, 2008, 13:33:51 PM
Had a phone call earlier from a guy who is moving within the next 2 weeks.  He's got 9 cats to get homes for, none are spayed or neutered so I've now got them all booked in for next week.  All the rescues are chocca so something will have to be sorted out.  He's took these cats in off the streets so he is trying to do his bit, only problem is now what to do with them all  :sneaky:  I'm going to get some piccies of them and hopefully try and drum up a few homes  :tired:

He did phone a while about needing help rehoming some and I said I'd get them spayed and neutered for him but he never answers his phone when I ring which is a bit of a pain.  I have others to sort and they expect me to run round after them and chase it up.  He told me today he is usually in in the evenings and drops the bombshell about moving, I've phoned him a couple of times and no answer........I wanted to get some piccies of them and I need to sort out for getting them next week for the vets  :tired:

That sort of thing happens to us as well. A few weeks ago we got a call on the branch line from a lady who said she 'desparately' needed to rehome her cat NOW as she was about to be made homeless. She left a mobile number, which was switched off with no message facility.

I gave up trying after four days and about 25 calls to it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has this sort of trouble, I was beginning to think it was just me that dealt with the "awkward" ones.

Just had a phone call off this guy telling me that he's now given 6 of the cats away to neighbours  >:(  I told him yesterday about getting them done before rehoming and I've now got to found out where they've all gone to get them sorted as if I've got  :censored: all else to do.  Sometimes I really don't know I bother, they phone you up wanting help, you mess about sorting out vet appointments and they do what they want anyway  :mad2:  :mad2:

I know the feeling Dawn sadly there are many of these  :censored: about .  Sometimes tho you have to remind yourself that you can't save everyone so essentially don't sacrifice your time for the needy to chasing up after this :censored:

So long as the cats are safe and loved give them advice and if they are willing to meet some of the cost of the neutering then great... see if you can get them CP vouchers or just make part payment.

I know its not an ideal scenario but for someone like yourself working on your own essentially with other committments you have to way up the pros and cons.

Let us know how you get on tho... fingers crossed for you hun!!!
