Got a knock on the door about 2 hours ago,it was a young man with a big dog and a huge problem. The man had lived with his dad until being made homeless when his dad upped and left, his dog is 18months old and been with him since a pup,the dog was beautiful and so well trained, the young man has found a place for himself but his dog was turned away and as he said we were his only hope.
OH is currently taking man and dog to a rescue who kindly pulled out all the stops to help us despite it being out of area ( it is a rescue known and trusted by me); I feel so very sad for both the dog and the young man who really loves her,the best I could give this man was a printed photo I took of his beloved girl; I feel so upset that I couldnt have kept her for him; hopefully she will be lucky and find a home quickly and I hope this young man falls on happier times.
We just dont realise how lucky we all are.

Aww, that is such a sad story T, I do hope that the dog isnt waiting long, and her owner gets himself sorted soon. Good on you for being able to help, and good on the other rescue.

There, but for fortune, go you and I...
Thank goodness you were both there to help and I hope that the young mans life takes a sharp turn for the better, maybe even including being reunited with his beloved dog.

Oh, the poor soul... both of them! :'( :'(
Life can be so :censored: cruel sometimes. :no no:
Thank goodness you were there to help him pick up the pieces. 8)

OH just called in with young man who wanted to say thank you bless him ;so,I`ve managed to find a good home for some surplus mince pies, biscuits and cringles; thank God for Christmas. Rob has now taken him home and I so hope things work out for him, such a polite lad with such a cruel start to the year.
Gill I hope so too

I really hope the two can be reunited, that's so sad.
The Dogs Trust Hope Project fights for the rights to take dogs into homeless shelters, I know the project started in London and I'm sure it extended to other major cities, perhaps they would be worth a call?

Aww, how nice of you T, and I do hope things start to go his way.

Fingers crossed that life takes a turn for the better for this poor lad and his dog!
Really hope this year is going to be better than last!!!

Never a truer word has been said. You're an angel for doing what you did for him Teresa, reckon he'll not forget it. I hope things get back on track for him.

Poor lad .... I'm sure he will always remember your kindness T.
Such a shame he has had rehome his Doggy ... it sounds like he could do with a special friend at the moment :(
