I opened a tin of red salmon among lots of other things to see if I could treat Bonnie over Christmas, would she eat any of the things I put in front of her - NO. I have just tried to eat creme caramel and I got maybe 1/3 of it, yes, Bonnie had the othr 2/3.

  Bonnie sounds very much like my Rossi ... I have tried tempting her with all the things the other two eat - tiger prawns, tuna, roast beef, turkey etc etc and she won't have any of it. However creme caramel, yoghurt, ice cream and galaxy choccie are wolfed down! (Needless so say she doesn't get much choccie - she has a fingernail size piece every couple of weeks but she really does love it)

I have read somewhere claiming that cats don't taste sweet flavour and remain indifferent to sweets, but I really don't believe it... Oliver loves various desserts, tiramisu, ice creams, apple crumble cakes, nutella, jam, whipped cream to name a few, and his latest seasonal fetish is pandoro and panettone!!
He would come running and won't leave me alone until he gets his share...

And even go looking for some leftover crumbs in a finished box!!

Don't tell me why but I just know that he will go totally mental over creme caramel as well!! ;D

Sam - That's amazing, a cat eating galaxy chocolate, I had some last night but Bonnie didn't come sniffing, lucky me. :evillaugh: :naughty:
Licia - Love the photos of Oliver - Tiramisu????? You'll be having him on espresso con grappa subito!!!! (strong coffe and Italian brandy for those of you who are wondering what the chuff I'm on about!!!) :Luv2:

I know they say that abouyt cats taste but Kocka used to love sweet things, especially icecream and friut yogart ;D
She also would eat food sprinkled with an antibiotic that the vet said is very bitter............sigh

Rossi also likes tea ... white with one sugar   I drink tea constantly and she is the only one who has ever shown the slightest interest in it ... I have caught her several times dipping her paw into my nearly empty mug to get at the tea. So now every evening I make a mug of tea and pour a little bit into a saucer for her ... she loves it and laps it up. It's weird cuz I remember my granddad always used to do this for his spaniel (may Rossi was a D O G in a previous life ... which is why she likes healthfood and tea  )

You just reminded me, the last couple of days Franta whined until he was allowed to lick the last bit of milk from my weetabix.
Today he wasnt there so when he started whining I got him a drop of milk but he snuffed it and looked at me all disgusted like......the main difference was no splenda in the milk today!
-
Funnily enough the smell of pure ground coffee horrifies Oliver, he hates it with passion, but once brewed and mixed with loads of milk and sugar, he takes a sudden interest, and keeps trying to poke his head into our mugs!!
Grappa I wouldn't know, he doesn't seem to care much for any alcoholic beverages, well except for Marsala wine in our tiramisu that is!! :)

Our bridge babe cat Pwt for the last two years of her life only ate ambrosia custard, ambrosia rice, semolina etc also vanilla yogurt, she also loved porridge and weetabix. Offer her cat food and she'd turn her nose up on it,but she did love tuna and chicken though (hooman food of course) :evillaugh:

I'm convinced that a lot of it is just because we are eating it. When he was younger, Jaffa was a terror for wanting what I was eating. Even if it was vegetables or salad. He had to have it because I was having it. He doesnt do it so much now although they both go mad for yogurt, ice cream etc but that's because they like dairy. I'm mean though and only let them lick out the yogurt pot or whatever. I don't share my desserts with anyone! And as for chocolate - they definitely wouldn't get any of that, no matter how hard they tried ;D
-
I'm glad to see my Bonnie's not on her own with her strange tastes in food. I've had cats for 47 years and I learn something new every day. :Luv2:

I'm just thinking of their health and waistlines - all the crap I eat can't be good for them ;D They do get to lick my plate when I've finished!
-
Well you could sit down and eat a bowl of salad everynight I suppose, that would be good for their waistlines :evillaugh:
I'll be thinking of you while eating my whole nut bar :evillaugh:

Please do. I'm down to the bounties in my tin of Celebrations. I don't really like them but if that's all that's left I'll eat 'em. They do have chocolate on the outside after all.

Getting the :car: out and am off on a mission..........................are you coming Gwen
-
Gill, I hope your mission is to find plenty of the so called healthy food (chocolate and nice sweet things!!) for our puddies. :naughty: :Luv2: They have to celebrate 2008 in their usual spoilt way.
