Title: Large Covered trays?
Post by: Sarah (seldom_use) on December 30, 2007, 12:19:24 PM
Hi guys ;D

Was wondering if anyone has a really big covered litter tray, I have one from PAH, it's an alright size but Charlie is beginning to look uncomfortable in it :evillaugh:

I imagine they do larger trays somewhere, I just can't seem to find them.

Thanks :)

tricky one. I do have a large unused dog kennel (plastic) that might do the trick - just insert litter tray and away you go. Removing the lid for cleaning would involve undoing several plastic 'screws' though so probably not all that useful ... :(

I got Kylies covered tray in PAH and it's plenty big enough for her and she is a huge cat - 6kg

I got a massive tray from the supreme cat show.  It's bigger than anything I've seen in the shops.  I bought it from Purrsonal Touch.  I can't see it on their website but I think it's the same brand as the attached pic (except not a corner tray).  The flap bit looks the same.   I'll try and measure it for you when I get the chance.  I used to get a large catit one from Jollyes (think Purrsonal Touch sell them) as it was the biggest one I've seen in a pet store, but the new one is bigger.

You could ring them up and ask them whether they sell the rectangular ones mail order.  I usually buy stuff from them at cat shows as they have stands at a lot of shows, but when I did order by phone one time I found them very helpful and friendly.

And they really are giant.

I've also got one of the corner ones Susanne posted a photo of. I got it from Jollyes.

ooo thanks so much everyone ;D

i'm going to try find something to measure the one we have.. mark it's possibly the same one you have from PAH.. It doesn't have the swing door though.

when charlie uses it, he kind of has to stand with his bum in it with his paws hanging out the front :-[

susanne - that corner one looks quite big and karen i seen they ones on pet planet as well. i just need to measure the one we have to compare..

jo - i think it will have to come to buying a kennel with a tray in it if he keeps growing :evillaugh:

Look on zooplus, they have big tray on there that fits MCs! Probably would cost me £20 to fill it with litter

This is the one I have

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_litter_litter_boxes/hooded_litter_box/19586

It's about 28" long, 22" wide and 18" high.

If that's not big enough, you could try just buying a large, plastic storage container.  I've seen people cut holes in the front to allow acces, or if the cat is big just let them climb in the top!  ;D

PAH have some of the large corner ones in at the moment. My local isn't a large PAH so maybe one near you would have them too. They seem a really good size to me and I don't think they've had them very long. Think they are £15 or maybe £20. Hope this helps.

A word of warning about large litter trays  - I thought I was going to dislocate my shoulder lifting it up this morning!  ;D  Since I got the new one it's seriously heavy when it's full of litter.
