Due to their elderly owner's extreme ill health (terminal cancer) two lovely Asian shorthairs are looking for a new home. They are six years old, a brother and sister who have never been parted. They are neutered, up to date with their vaccinations (I think) and are currently living in Birmingham. They have been allowed to go out, although they don't stray very far. They would like a home together without dogs (they don't like them which is why they can't go to the owners daughter) and safe access to the outside world. If you think you can help them, please let me know on - {edited to remove email} via PM.
Thanks.

Hi Miss Information and :welcome: to Purrs
Hope you find a home for the two cats - how urgent is this?
Do you have any pictures of the cats that you could post?
:luck:

Hi
Thanks for your welcomes, in answer to your questions.
I'm the breeder of the two cats, so although they are 6 now and have been gone a long time, I do still have a responsibility to them. Unfortunately I cannot take them at the moment as I do not have a pen to put them in and in any case their owners do not wish them to go into rescue whilst they wait for new homes, they would also prefer to vet a new home themselves. From the conversations that I've had with the daughter who I originally sold the cats to, the situation looks grim. Her father is in his mid 80's and is in the end stages of cancer, he is on morphine and sadly still in great pain, it's all very sad and distressing for them.
I do have a back up plan which will be supported by both the Bombay & Asian Self Breed Club and the Asian Group Cat Society but am hoping I won't need to involve them. The owners daughter has already contacted the Asian Cat Association but they don't do checks before rehoming so they don't want to use them.
I will try and get pictures to post. The male is a brown ticked tabby and female is a caramel ticked tabby.
Thanks for your support.

Thanks for all your positive comments, I'd like to think I'm one of many responsible cat breeders, sadly however it's only the bad ones that ever get mentioned :(
I'm happy to report that Jupiter and Cleo got a new family today - fingers crossed all goes well ;D
-
great news!! they are such stunning babes I was sure there would be queues for them!! Glad to see I was not being over-optimistic!! :wow:
-
That is really good news even though I am really jealous.
Good luck to Cleo and Jupiter and best of luck to you. Please keep us posted and let us know how Cleo and Jupiter get on.
-
Aww, I didn't think they would be waiting long.
-
Woo Hoo excellent news ... I didn't think they'd have long to wait. Such a shame that they had to find a new , I'm sure their previous owner will be pleased to know they are safe and well in a forever home.
-
Their owners were absolutely gutted to have to let them go, but they have gone to a family with a large garden and children so I think they'll be fine, once they've settled in and I don't think that will take too long :) Asians are very adaptable cats who love being involved with a family - lots of interesting things to look at and cause havoc with :naughty:

:omg: what stunning cats :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: So pleased you've managed to find them a new home and well done for helping them out and being responsible

its great to see you still thinking of them 6 yrs on and very sad about their original owner, he obviously cared for them greatly.

great news that this duo have found a new home. Its just sad how things have turned out for their previous family.
Hoping that they have many happy years ahead of them with their new family. They are certainly stunning little kitties.
