Title: A Christmas promise
Post by: Teresa Pawcats on December 07, 2007, 20:06:51 PM
There will be turkey on the menu for the wonderful rescues at Paws Inn, as always it will be lovingly prepared and served in the usual dishes, in the same old pens as it is year after year after year.
There will be lots of the usual cuddles and the usual apologies that we haven’t found the purr fect home yet along with the same old hope that a home will turn up in the New Year.
Christmas carols I’m sure will be in abundance as the cats sit idly listening to the same old Classical FM that they listen to day in and day out.
There’s a limit to what will fit in a Cat Pen, no room for a tree which they would all love to climb and batter the gaily coloured baubles  around. Just the same old scratching posts and usual ball along with a new catnip toy.
No freedom to choose a trip to the great outdoors in search of a mouse or to slip and slide on the frost underfoot; no chance to chase that fallen leaf that teasingly  dances outside of the door, No chance of having the luxury of choosing which lap to adorn, or whose bed to pounce on at  5 in the morn.

As I ponder whether Santa has forgotten these beautiful felines at this special time ,I look back on last year and realise
The Best are always Kept till Last.

So to each and every one of my precious little charges I promise the same old thing to you as I’ve done to others every year ,you will be in your own
purr fect  home for Christmas with a lap and a tree next year.

Blip was six months in a (communal) pen but I suspect the little purring being sitting hard against this keyboard as I type thought it was worth the wait.

May all your little ones be equally as lucky as all the well-loved puds on Purrs

Teresa, you are a truly amazing lady. :) The cats in your charge might not access to a lap 100% of the time, but they certainly have love. Merry Christmas to them all. :)

That was so sad Teresa and all of your cats have a wonderful place to stay warm and fed this christmas and even without their forever home they so much better off than many others

Happy Christmas to all the cats in your care and also to yourself.  ;D

That brought a tear to my eye - at least they are with you, and have love, warmth and food, they could be a lot worse off. I hope that the New Year brings lots of new homes for them all, and not as many needy cats next year.

Teresa, as others have posted - the cats at Paws Inn are so lucky to be there with you.   It is great news about Izabella and Freya - I have only just realised that the lovely Jess has found her forever home too - always had such a soft spot for her.    Happy Christmas to all at Paws Inn.

Having had the privelige of visiting Paws Inn, I can confirm that any cat who arrives there is a very lucky cat - although Teresa is, in the best possible sense of this expression, always delighted to see the back of them

I am sat here with tears rolling down my face, tears of joy for Dear little Amelia has just left for her forever home. Amelia as many will remember was one of the Cupboard cats who had such a pityful existence  before they came here. I dont normally rehome until the 2nd January but Amelias new home will be all quiet over the New Year and her human will be off work for another week to supervise introductions with the existing 16 year
old cat. I think Amelia has deservingly won the Cat Lottery.

Amidst the chaos of a needy dog being brought to the Inn it was decided that Izabella and her daughter Freya could go to their new home today; so we have just bid them a very fond farewell but I have a feeling we will be getting to hear about them fairly soon as it turns out their new dad is already registered on Purrs.

Today it was Florence and Megan`s turn to go to their new home together.

And a huge thank you to Claire who has fostered them for the last 8weeks while our pens have been full.
