Matilda is out lastest in rescue, she went missing for 6 days and then went home and was thought to have been involved in a RTA last week, she was taken to the vets by her owner and over the weekend they took her home but were unable to cope with the need to express her bladder. Today it was either PTS or a rescue to take her in. Of course as usual we have no room and a huge list of cats waiting to come in. But needs must and I cannot see a little one PTS when at least it has a chance to recover although we have been told we will not know for perhaps a couple of months id she will recover. I feel we must give her that chance. Donna one of our fosterers has put up one of those Penthouse pens in her lounge so she can keep a close eye on Matilda

It is Matilda, at the mo my photo thingy is up the creek, so I passed it to Stuart to do and when he asked the name I must have said Mildred. He may have got it wrong of course, but no it must have been my fault.

She's lovely. Trying not to pass judgment on the owners. Fingers crossed she heals well :ahh:

she is lovely Ela, and I'm glad I'm not the only person who has a giant pen in their front room for Christmas

good on you Ela for giving her a chance... bless her. Fingers crossed that things heal and she can go back go a semi normal life the wee darlin!
Lesley - You're definately not alone... we've got pens everywhere!!! lol

fingers crossed that Matilda get well soon

Sad news I am afraid, although Matilda looked so well when Donna took her to our vet yesterday, he said that her tail was completely detached, there was so much bowel damage that it would be impossible to heal, she possibly looked so content as she had no feeling in the damaged area.
Apparently it is quite a long story and more involved than we were initially told. Our vet was shocked that another vet had released the cat to us when in reality the kindest thing to do was let her go.
I am sure you all know that if there was a chance no matter how much it cost Matilda would have been given that chance.
