Leo has never really been a lap cat..He will either snuggle to the side of my leg on the sofa or sit in the seat next to me..everytime I get up he follows me ! :Luv:
If I lift him onto my lap he will usually stay for 5 seconds & then he is off ! He has just jumped up & stayed & im chuffed ! I am amazed as I write he is still here !

And................................ gone again ! ha ha :evillaugh:

;D mine get down on to the floor when they get too hot but otherwise lap cats :) they take turns although Stig is queue jumping alot LOL
-
Max is not a lap cat either but tonight when I picked him up he stayed for a while - 5 min - and I was quite chuffed, he also slept beside me on monday night when I came back from being away for the weekend and held on to my hand, think I need to go away more so he misses me  other than that he just stares at me from across the room :scared:

Aww, bless! By the time he's fully grown you might be wishing he wasn't a lap cat though! ;D
Jaffa was about 4 before he came onto my lap. Mosi's been a big baby since I brought him home.

Probably you have realised right away, but you just jinxed yourself Lisa, if you didn't say anything Leo might have stayed much longer with you! ;)
But I know the feeling... sweet isn't it!! :wow: ;D :Luv:
Ollie has to choose his moments, when he is in the mood he would climb up on my lap and would stay there for quite some time, but when I pick him up and set him on my lap he would usually jump right off.
He has also his moments with being carried about in my arms, sometimes yes, sometimes no, sometimes he would barely torelates the manhandling for some moments.
But he is all in all a huge cuddlebum in every other way. :Luv:

Lap cats aren't all they're cracked up to be. Mosi isn't really a lap cat but when he's sleepy he does go all snuggly on me. He's been on my lap for over half an hour now so I'm stuck at the pc and have missed the end of I'm a Celeb. He's lying draped over me stretched out now so I think he's getting a bit hot which means he'll get down soon. At least I hope so as I'm feeling rather warm myself!

that's so true, especially when they are 'big-boned'. Bob used to cut off my circulation if he stayed on my lap too long

Skye regularly "pins" me by passing out on my lap for hours - its lovely, but I end up with a stiff back, dead legs / arms, and eventually, great difficulty escaping to the toilet! :evillaugh:
She is doing a passable impression of a boneless cat across my knee as I type.... :innocent:

Oliver did just that the other day, falling asleep with his full tummy right on top of my outstretched arm on the bed!! :evillaugh:

mary stays so long sometimes i fall asleep i have low blood pressure which makes me nod off if I'm still for too long so I'm bit of a fidget which Mary is slowly getting used to

Bertie didn't sit on my lap until he'd turned two years old ... then one day I was sitting at home anxiously waiting for news while OH was having his gallbladder removed, and Bertie jumped up and gave me a big cuddle. Since then, I can't sit down without him pinning me down ... he weighs 19lb and right now I've got a dead leg!
