Try an extra tray or 2 with different types of litter, sometimes they just decide they wont share so its worth a go!

Afaik Zoflora is not safe for use around cats, it goes cloudy in water?

Yes that is one of the most dangerous things as it goes cloudy - so contains phenols. Absolutely lethal for cats.

Parki and Archie do share the same tray. They both have outside access during the day but prefer to use it. It is regually cleaned.

I use Sainsburys litter.

Will also get her checked by the vet

Does she share a tray, are they regularly cleaned, what litter do you use? A vet check wouldnt go amiss as bladder crystals are painful and can cause a litter tray aversion.

Theres always a reason for cats fouling the house, they dont do it for fun!

Seems like Parki is very similar to Willow and we are frightened to leave a pile of soft things around like bedding :shify:

Lovely buffet by the way ;D

I have to watch Willow when I strip the bed as she will go straight for it  - I have to take it straight to the laundry basket in the bathroom before she gets a chance.

constant prob here too. If not Noa, it's Elliot and Elias is so frightened he skips going to the litter and pees on the floor  :shify:
yesterday I found my new jogging and new shopping bag all wet in my bedroom. Jason gets home from training, puts bag on floor and Elliot pees on it.
What do those cats think really??  :censored:

Oops  :-[

But..........

Clapton had  :tired: - I just went to check it and Clapton had done one of his regular poos there  >:(

We have had a problem with that corner since we moved here. We think the previous owner's cat marked there as the cats were sniffing around the corner as soon as we arrived. It was constantly sprayed by them and Clapton keeps pooing there - once when he had the runs - luckily we have an industrial carpet cleaner. Anyway, it was the reason the carpet had to be taken up as it was so discoloured from constant peeing and spraying with simple solution. She even sprayed up the curtains in that corner. I used Oxy-kic Pet on them and the colour ran (they are expensive embroidered ones). We thought when the boards were sanded and varnished it would stop but the smell is obviously coming up from where it has gone down the cracks. I have been spraying the area with industrial strength urine remover about 3 times a week hoping that the smell will totally go over time . It seemed to be going well until last night  :tired:

Sorry to Hijack your thread Alison but we seem to be in the same boat sailing over an ocean of cat pee   :-:

It is waxed - the biggest problem is the gas in the floorboards  :tired:

I think with the pee/poo issue, it is a case of laugh or cry.

I went to mop the dining room floor (sanded and varnished floorboards) I got to the buffet unit and thought "I did wring the mop out" - until I realised it was a puddle of wee  :tired: - I also knew it was willow as she sprays whereas Kylie squats. I sprayed it with urine remover and totally forgot about it (We don't use the room much) until now - I hope the wood isn't ruined.

Thanks for posting this thread Alison. I know it wasn't your initial intention but I've had such a good chuckle    which, bearing in mind the cat poo I've just cleaned up on bathroom floor, I needed a little.

I remember when I used to be upset at pee and poo in bathroom but that was before the peeing on carpet started.  Now realise bathroom is best  :-:

Very much hope Parki calms down soon  .  I highly recommend the Zylkene capsules for calming down.  It worked with Dinah who was the peeing on duvets culprit.

Whoops, spayed sofas :shy:

No peeing last night ;D

After reading Marks post I remembered Parki peed on a pile of clean washing and my sons luggage recently :shify:

Still wonder if she is missing company during the night as she used to curl up with her mum until she died last year :(

If you think she maybe missing company at night, try a soft toy with a ticking clock inside it, she may like that to cuddle up to -  or she may just pee on it. :Luv2:

Sorry I can't be any help having a serial pee pot here  :tired:

I bought a lunch cooler pack for OH today and left if on the kitchen table for 1/2 hour and went back to a puddle on it  :tired: - OH says I should know better than to put anything down in the house  - so we have carrier bags hanging off virtually every door knob.

Poor Parki with the litter tray put outside, she probably thought she was being chucked out again  :'(

I think apart from the cleaning which is being done , its a matter of gaining her trust again so that she knows she is loved and doent have to go out if she doesnt want to.

I do hope this improves

Ummmmmmmmm lets see Parki, dont think ever seen a picture of her  ;D

Peeing on duvets, clothes on floor, carpet in corner of lounge, bathroom floor, bath, kitchen floor, front room wooden floor etc etc

My life revolves around peeing cats  :( but seems (touch wood) slightly better more recently  :wish:.  My mom says I do a sterling job staying on top of it all.  OH came into kitchen this am complaining he was cold  >:(.  I was perspiring with running around after my charges.

I wash area with warm water and bio washing powder.  When dry, I spray with surgical spirit and wipe off with damp kitchen towel.  When dry I follow through with feliway spray; am and pm.  In addition, Feliway plug ins on landing and in hallway and round off with occasional "drugging"  :naughty: with Zylkene capsules sprinkled on food of whichever pud seems to have most furrowed brow that day.

Have not yet taken the Zylkene capsules myself with my hot chocolate but it is simply a question of time  :tired:

Best of luck Alison    and a  for Parki too

Parki keeps peeing on the cushions
« Reply #1 on: September 18, 2009, 22:01:13 PM »
Parki has occasionally peed on soft furnishings around the house.

This became worse when OH decided to put the litter tray outside the catflap :shify:

Its now back inside but Parki  keeps peeing on cushions during the night.

I have plugged a Feliway in but it has made no difference.

Parki is 9 and we took her on about a year ago, until then the 'owners' had kept her outside.

Would be so grateful of any ideas you may have
