I had a knock at the door this evening about 8pm -
When i opened a door a man said to me "Do you have cats?"
My heart sank and i said yes why whats happened ?
He said there was a cat in a carrier in the road !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been parking my car in the road rather then on my drive as some mornings to hasnt started and i can then bump start it down the hill
Anyway........
Sure enough next to my drivers door IN THE ROAD was a carrier with a cat in it.
I brought it indoors and its a lovely neutered black and white cat with a red flea collar on.
We have an all night vets a couple of miles away so i rang them and popped him along to see if he was chipped - He wasnt but he's a healthy middle aged cat.
I made a phone call and Orpington Cat Rescue are going to take him tomorrow so he is spending the night here with us till then.

What she said

How cruel can people be, he would have frozen to death stuck in a carrier, if he hadnt been hit by a car first.
So pleased you have him safe and a rescue will take him.
why are people so cruel to cats and he must have been a loved pet, then he is just put in a carrier and dumped, no wonder they are upset and confused .
What a horrible thing to have on your concience............Ok they probably have none

I am totally lost for words to be honest !!!!
Why not put him at my front door for crying out loud !

He has weepy eyes - just brown watery discharge that older cats sometimes get (i have now bathed them and cleaned them up)
He has had some catnip too (see pic lol)

Poor baby, so pleased he found his way to you last night, and that a rescue are able to take him.
As for the :censored: who dumped him, once again words fail me :(
-
Thank goodness he is safe and well cared for now. But what people will do!! >:(

This little mite has been plaing on my mind all night.................... :(
Where are the hearts and minds of these people who juts dump these poor animals - it really is beyond me. It is just basic care and love and this is obviously something these people lack but I really cannot get my head around it. It would wrip me apart and destroy me if I thought I'd done something like this, it really would cause the death of me through agony and pain but these people just do not think twice about it. They obviously do not see it as a living, breathing and feeling creature, they must just see it as, oh I don't know - a bloody crisp packet to be thrown away. Do they not think about the suffering and agony that could be caused, I really think these people do not have hearts. :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Sorry just had to get a mini rant out >:(

ah bless you Mrs R -
I totally agree with you, If you could see his little face this morning !!
Last night he was ok, eat well and was very friendly but this morning he wont eat and is curled up in a corner scared. He hasnt used the litter tray either bless him
I think he is quiet an old cat (in his teens) his eyes weep all the time and must be quiet sore as he loves it when i clean them with warm water
I am taking him to Orpington Cat rescue at 12.30 ( i have considered keeping him but !!)
-
Awwwww poor little thing, really has broken my heart >:( :(
-
I do hope they can find him a home quickly cos he must be so scared and confused
-
Aww, at least they left him somewhere he could be found, and not wander off. Good luck with the rescue today.
-
Dropped him off ok.
He was very upset and scared about where he was, Even lashed out a couple of times (which he hasnt done over night)
The lady who runs the rescue is lovely, I am sure he will be fine and will find a new home quickly.

Poor, poor lad look at him he looks so sad. :( :'( Glad that you found him Michelle, let's hope he will find a loving family that he deserves so much.
-
Good luck to this lad - he looks like a nice old man if not a bit disillusioned with the human race. (But who can blame him at the moment?)
-
Any idea how hes doing Michelle?
-
I just dont under stand why people cant just take them to a cat rescue centre. He is a very lucky cat and you are a very nice person.
