Hii everyone!! I'm a proud owner of my first ever little kitten who is 10 weeks old at the moment and is a Maine coon cross called peppy!! He's settled in very well, very playfull and into everything, expecially bomb diving into my ear lobes which is his new game at the moment haha!! Would love some advice on how I can discourage him from playfully biting my fingers? Look forward to hearing off you all :)

Hi there!
Your little one is gorgeous! I love Maine Coons and am very jealous!
Welcome to the group. I won't try to offer advice on stopping the biting as my two do the same and I haven't yet tried to discourage it....
Bad daddy!

its what babies do, they grow out of it, lots of toys usually help - the purrs shop has some great ones

Hi Carley welcome to purrs your little kitty is lovely, he will grow out of biting, i have one that bites your nose every time its picked up

I suppose you could shout,as if in pain! that should deter him. He's lovely.

Hi Carley and :welcome: :welcome: to you and the oh so scrummy Peppy!
I use a neat spray called Grannicks Bitter Apple, is is designed to stop puppies from chewing their stitches after surgery but works equally well to deter kittens from chewing fingers/wires/slippers etc.
I get mine from Amazon but VetUk do it aswell.

Spray it on your hands/nose/ears before play and he should learn pretty quickly that Mums hands taste horrid. Try it yourself, it's like that stuff they put on kids fingernails called StopIt, I seem to recall... :-[ :-[

If your little one is "playing rough" then it might be worth trimming his claws. This is a good habit to go ito and it's best to start when they are young. This is a very useful guide. Don't be scared it's very easy to do and will save your hands and your furniture ;) http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,33470.0.html

Peppy is gorgeous!!! ;D ;D ;D looks like my new little girl Evie! ;D
Try not using your hands or fingers as toys or ways to distract them. Then they wont see hands as toys ;D i highly recommend the Da Bird from the shop here - if hes anything like my girl it will wear him out a treat :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
