So sorry to hear about Chelsea  RIP Chelsea, safe and sound at the Bridge by now xx

You'll get your rainbow, maybe when you're least expecting it but you'll get it

Remember Our Love

I was chosen that day
I'm learning to fly
the world took me away,
but please don't you cry

And I chose you today
to try and be strong
so please don't you cry
and don't say that I'm gone

When you're feeling alone
just remember our love,
I'm up near the stars
looking down from above.

Remember our love
In a moment you'll see
that I'm still here beside you
when you're thinking of me.

I really can't thank everyone on here enough for all their good wishes both when she was ill and I was desperately looking for an answer as we didn't know it was a brain tumour until late in the day and afterwards.....
I don't usually post on forums but this is a special one.

Thank you and  for you and your poor Sam.
I hope they do find each other, she wasn't really a cat's cat but she needs a friend now.

I'd like to Gill if that's ok in my current cat-less state. Everyone has been really kind.
We're talking about whether its right to get another cat and I think we'll have a serious think once Easter is over. Everyone I know with cats has told me its the right thing to do. There is a local independent rescue centre which I'd like to visit if we do decide to do that. My problem is that it was just me and Chelsea for much of the last 18 years and so I feel a bit disloyal at even thinking about replacing her (she is irreplaceable as far as I am concerned).

First you never replace a cat and a new cat is just a new friend often you are led to the right one by your old best friend

Second you alsolutely welcome to stay on Purrs with or without a cat  ;D

When you feel ready then you look for another cat, some need one straight away like me and others take longer, sometimes much longer, its all down to how you feel.  Dont be pushed to go too soon if you dont feel ready and dont feel bad going quickly if that feels right

Yes, please do stay with us  We have had cat-less members in the past (usually after a loss  :( ) but they don't seem to stay that way for very long as they find that a home isn't a home without a cat

I know what you mean about the potential feeling of disloyalty  I lost my childhood cat just short of her 19th birthday, as you can imagine I was devastated but I couldn't live without a cat in my life so not long after I lost her I adopted two kittens. I did worry that I wouldn't be able to love them like I loved her and that I would resent them for simply not being her or for being here only because she had gone.

I needn't have worried! I fell head over heels in love with them within hours and  having them didn't make me love and miss my old cat any less, I have room in my heart for them all  :) My special boys are 5 now (where does the time go  ) and they make me laugh most days and smile every day so I think Tiggy would have been very happy that I got them  :)

Wise words ladies and thanks. I'll be staying then

If I'm honest I can 't see me lasting long without a cat (or maybe two this time) but we're away over Easter and I used to hate going away and leaving Chelsea (who also became known as Miss Taylor due to her oscar winning vet deception performances, beautiful eyes and captivating ways) so I think we'll get back and then we'll be looking for a couple of kittens.
