Historically, ours have been little horrors for catching local wildlife all year round, but since Milly's attack last year they've not been going out as much and haven't really brought anything in. My OH is away with work for a few weeks and they've been a complete nightmare! There have been mice, shrews, birds, butterflies, toads, you name it, it's been brought in. The crowning glory was yesterday when I walked into the dining room (where Milly takes her trophies so it must have been her!) and found the wing and foot from an adult pigeon. Yes, just those bits
Sooo, is it that time of year when there are lots of things to catch, or are they missing daddy and are attempting to get him to come home by bringing him gifts?

Today I have had 4 mice, half a rabbit and 2 Pipistrelle bats

Lupins on a mouse a day keeps the vet away and yesterday he ate the mouse

I wish mine WOULD eat them!
They bring mice in still alive and just play with them >:(
They haven't brought anything in for ages (touch wood) It was more spring time and it was babies :'(
I think maybe their hunting skills aren't developed enough to go for the adults!

I just heard crashing and bashing...rushed downstairs and found Geoffrey on the kitchen work surface with a blackbird. Lovely.

Alfie went through a phase of catching things in the spring but we haven't had anything for quite a while. Either he isn't good enough to catch adults of he's not bringing things home because Cleo is here!
