That's the beautiful thing about Rainbows Gill - sometimes they need to be worked on for a bit, but then you get such a special rainbow it takes your breath away. And two rainbows - well, ain't that just splendid!!

Ducha will send you one, have no fear of that. And Napoleon will show him how its done, as will Tazi and all of the other beautiful babies who've shared our lives and send us signs to let us know that love cant be shaken.

It took Napoleon over a year to send me one but when he did it was one of the best rainbows I had ever seen and I could have almost driven onto the bottom of it, cos could see the bottom.

Another Double Rainbow appeared at the back of my house again this evening, it was so clear & bright the photo doesnt do justice.
Anyway, I'd like to think Tazi sends me them and when I saw it I also immediately thought of you - because of that i'm sharing it with you knowing you will get yours soon

I can see from the footie pics that mother nature is still shedding her tears for you in South Wales, Gill.

I love that picture of Ducha just barely tolerating loving torment from Lupin.

The last ones? What a noble and stoic gentleman he was, and how he will be missed by us all. I hope you know by now that you have no reason to regret his passing, and that he is now happy, healthy and young again at the Bridge, with four whole strong legs and a naughty gleam in his eye.

A beautiful tribute you wrote, it made me smile and cry, then smile again. RIP Ducha. xx

DUCHA RIP 13 Aug 93 - 16 Aug 12

Oh Ducha my special boy my heart is broken and just dont know the words to say.

I dont feel I ever gave you as much as I should have and for that I am so sorry, I know you wanted to be a lapcat but your 3 legs made it hard for you to get comfy and you did try for a short time.

I so wish I had seen you as a 4 legged cat cos I reckon you were just like Napoleon and even with 3 legs you managed to get over the fence................sigh, I was so scared when I saw you trying to get back and pleased I was on hand to help.

Up until just over a year ago you liked the occasional walk in the garden but most of all you liked the bedroom where you have lived since day one. You were the kindest, most gentle cat and my little slinky minky you also had a devil side

You loved to sleep with me on my bed and put your head on my pillow next to me and then while I was asleep you would get your paws in my hair and lick it and send out your happy purrs. I loved your happy purrs and am so sorry I couldnt have you lying on my head since I was ill again as my head hurt too much. I hope you understood that I still loved you just as much

I sorted the bedroom out just for you with everything you needed and you used it all. You hopped across the space from my bed and your bed on the sofa and used me as a road during the night.

I would have loved to have you downstairs more but over the last year the stairs were too much for you most of the time and you hated being picked up. You were a proud boy and wanted to do things under your own steam.

I always meant to take loads more pictures of you and am so sorry that I didnt.

I was so pleased you had a lovely 19th birthday and enjoyed your chicken dinner but so sad you had to leave so soon after

I loved you with all my heart and hope that you know that and this tribute seems so inadequate for the huge hole in my heart that you have left.

Pictures are Ducha on his 18th birthday and for me the very sadest two of him yesterday morning before I made vet appointment. I so wanted him to start eating but he didnt and underneath those fantastic looks he had lost every ounce of weight, he had had. It literally dropped off him in 24 hours

It's awful when they suddenly go downhill like that- all you want is for them to bounce back for a little bit longer even though really you know it's time.

As others have said, Ducha had a long and happy life but that doesn't make it any easier I know.

19 is a fantastic age, though, all you can hope for that his remaining time is peaceful and pain-free.
