You probably all know Lou Lou Flump is missing from the other thread on here, I am missing her terribly and thought I should post a thread about her with some pics and that might make her come home :'(
Lou Lou Flump was our second cat, Steve found her at his work when she was about 4 weeks old, she was with her brother who was sadly dead, we think they had been dumped, anyway we got her home and she was covered in fleas, Steve picked every flea off of her with tweezers and spent the night with her feeding her and making sure she was OK, next day we took her to the vets to be deflead and checked over, she has been with us ever since, that was 8 years ago, I am so sad :'(
-
Aw Clare hun, I thought she would of been back by now! Have you seen Gerry lately to know she maybe has not gone off on an adventure with him?
Sending positive vibes for her safe return home soon~~~~~~Best of luck!
-
come back lou lou!!!

No she is not back, it is nearly a week, she doesnt even stay out overnight usually, I have phoned the people who have Gerry to ask if they have seen her, they havent and Gerry is back with them, it is hard to look round here because we dont have neighbours as such we are sort of in the middle of a field, we are going into the village today to post up flyers, I just cant think where she can be, we have checked every outbuilding, we have walked down all the lanes calling her, we have done everything we can think of, we dont get cars up here so that is one blessing, I am hoping she is just having a week away on an adventure course :'(
-
:Luv: What a beautiful cat she is, sending you lots of come home vibes
-
I know you have probably already checked out all the tips and advice of Sams? I have used a couple of things like spreading your hoover contents and of course the leaflets and posters are a must.....
I did'nt know it had almost been a week hun, you must be passed yourself by now but as I know from past experience a week although a lifetime to us is but a couple of seconds to a cat when they go AWOL! :tired:
One thing for sure you know there will be plenty about for her to eat! ;)
Linky to Sams advice!

Lou Lou come home!
Daisy I say there's still plenty of time for her to come home. our old cat Rover went missing for months and we spent ages searching for her before sadly giving up. Mum got two kittens from the CPL and a short while later Rover came back! :evillaugh: :Luv2:
-
I know you must be out of your mind with worry about her and the ideal situation would be for her to get her butt back immediately but there's so many stories of hope - Munki returned after 4 months away, Buddy after nearly 2 months... I could go on
-

-
Hoping the wanderer has changed direction and is now making her way back! :wish: :grouphug:

Topping up with loads more come home vibes

-
No news to report I am afraid, no sign on Lou Lou and no responses to posters :(
-
:care:
-
A newspaper ad (with pic) in your local free paper could be the way to go, I know you're quite rural so the newspaper will reach all the homes that a poster might not
-
Im sorry you still have no news :(
Will continue to send those come home safe vibes for Lou Lou Flump :Luv:
And just for you and Steve
-
Just to say still no news, please keep the come home vibes going xxx

-
She's gorgeous  Did you have a think about the newspaper ad?
We dont get a local paper delivered here and not sure if any of the other rural houses do, we have gone for posters in the local vets and shops, I will place an ad at the end of the month (pay day) if there is still no news, the local amersham paper want £100 + for the ad joys of living in buckinghamshire !
Thank you so much all of you for your support xxxxxxx
-
What about the postman... just trying to think rurally here. He would go to all the houses so you could try and catch him and give him a photo to keep an eye out for her
-
I keep looking at this thread hoping to see the title changed to 'she's home'
My Sophie, who was blind, went missing for nearly 2 weeks over xmas and new year many years ago, she was found alive and well by a neighbour who was out walking his dogs, she obviously hadnt been able to find her way home being blind. Also many years ago, Moses went missing for weeks, I was convinced I'd never see him again - there were no sightings, nothing, it was like he disappeared into thin air, then one morning he just came in through the cat flap like he'd never been away.
-
£100 is outrageous
my local paper, the Carmarthen Journal, does not charge for Lost and Found, and I'm sure other papers have the same policy
-
Most local papers round here have a no charge policy for missing pets.
I do hope you hear something positive soon will continue to send those positive vibes for her safe return
-
That idea of Helens about the postman is a good one Claire! ;)
Thinking of you all!
-
I read a message on Facebook today, re a missing dog.
I wonder if its worth doing the same for Lou Lou ?
The more people who see pictures and read about her ......

-
I used to keep ferrets and one of them (Zorro) was especially naughty. She managed to get out of the run - to this day we have no idea how - and escape. I went to the local newspaper and asked them if they'd run a small article containing an appeal for information as to whether anyone had seen her, stating if they had to contact the local RSPCA where she was on the missing list. Amazingly, a man had found her that kept ferrets and he called them to get my details. When I went to collect her (three weeks after she'd gone missing, the day after I was called) she was asleep in a hutch with two other ferrets looking quite happy......
Hope Lou Lou is home soon. Try approaching your local paper and seeing what they say.
-
Come home Lou Lou Flump!!!!!
-
Keeping fingers crossed here xx
-
Thanks Helen, the postman is armed with posters, he has promised to ask about, I am still holding onto the thought that she will stroll in the cat flap, I am a nervous wreck everytime I hear the flap go I am there and you can imagine how many times a day that goes with my lot. Thank you all so much for keeping the vibes going you really are all so lovely
-
I hope the postman and posters work and shes home very soon

-
Thanks for all your support, we are having a bad day today, been out looking but no sign of Lou Lou, Steve is in bits I think I have only see him cry once before and he broke down in tears earlier, Lou Lou really is our baby she has been with us for so long, I have never lost a cat before, Gerry went missing but we know where he is now and he is safe, but this is killing me about Lou Lou, to make it more heartbreaking Daisy Doo is just roaming round the house crying, her and Lou Lou were the best of mates and cleaned each other and slept together all the time, Teabag is trying to wash Daisy but she looks so sad it really is so awful.
I am so sorry for going on, I know there are so many other things going on here at the moment that are so important but I really am broken hearted.
-
Awwww! Lots of    for you .... wish I could offer more :'(
-
My thoughts are with you Claire. I know how you feel having lost a cat myself. It is the worst feeling ever. I am praying for her safe return. Don't give up hope.

It is a good idea ;D
Lou Lou Flump has been AWOL for three weeks now, I think? I've noticed several cats come strolling back after that sort of time and really hope that Lou Lou Flump will do the same. But try to keep positive anyway: think about all the stories on here of cats who have been found after much longer. Easy for me to say, I know, but there are many, many of them
-
Thanks again for all your support, Dawn that would be great if you could put a poster up, I will PM you.
Will keep you up to date on progress, I havent given up hope, we still go out and look every night xxxx

I've got the posters up in our Wycombe offices and had a thought tonight of putting one in my car window so it can be seen when I'm parked up in different places as I'll be in a few public car parks over this weekend so you never know who might see it.

Sorry not been on here before but stuff at the Inn has been keeping me busy. Just wanted to say that I am thinking of you as I know exactly how you are feeling. I have been through the same so I understand. I know it will be controversial, but have you thought of an animal communicator?? Some believe and some don't........I do and it helped me when Sergio went missing, but I know it is a personal thing.

Hi Claire, my vibes for Lou lou to walk back in as quick as she went out are still going strong!
Im a bit worried about you contacting someone hun, Im so afraid that you may get bum answer's and that could seriously mess with your head and heart!
-
Come home Lou Lou Flump!
-
I did the communicator route - the way I saw it I could easily spend the money it cost me on one theatre ticket and if there was the possibility, however remote, of finding my Lilly I would have done it.
As it happens I never did find her but I would not have been able to rest if I hadn't tried everything possible.
Have PMed you.

Just an update, we spoke to the gamekeeper on our estate at the weekend, he asked us if one of our cats was missing, we explained about Lou Lou and he said that he had found a dead cat by the lanes at the edge of the estate, he had put it to the side of the lane but it had gone (probably taken by foxes) he said the cat was black and white, Lou Lou Flump was a dark grey and white tabby but if she was wet she would look black and white, so we cant do anything else than assume it was Lou Lou and we are heartbroken. We live in the middle of 400 acres and there is only three other cats in the area other than ours, one of those is Gerry who is grey and still very much alive, the other is a ginger boy (Ruby Red and PPP's brother who lives at the manor house) and the other is a very petite lady cat who lives with the land owner, again not black and white. So unless it was a cat who had wondered a good few miles it sounds like it may have been Lou Lou Flump. I am so gutted, we live where we live especially for our cats, we often joked that they only thing they would get run over by was a blade of grass or a horse, I feel like I have failed Lou Lou.

 You haven't failed her, you have given her an idyllic lifestyle in what sounds a perfect location. But you can't account for everything, you can't wrap them in cotton wool, they have to live. You've given them the safest life you could but you haven't failed her because something may have happened to her.
Hope that makes sense!

I'm sorry for the poor little cat :(

DM, you definitely didn't fail Lou Lou. And there's no guarantee it was her; cats have been known to travel a fair distance.
-
  There is no guarantee is was Lou Lou there could be many feral or stray cats you don't of so try not to beat yourself up over this, did the gamekeeper say when this happened?

He said it was about 2 weeks ago, he had only just thought to tell us, but I cant blame him, at least he was good enough to mention it to us.

Wouldn't you have thought though that you'd have seen her too?

Yes that is what I said to Steven,, but we look all the time and didnt see a cat at all, only thing I can think is it happened when I was in America :'(

Of course you havent failed her - or the others - they have a wonderful lifestyle by the sound of it  - like Sootyca said, you can't wrap them in cottonwool. Not knowing for sure is so difficult though
-
Aww, Claire
I was so sad to read this :'( - You did your very best to find her - and certainly there is absolutely NO failure on your part.
The only practical thing I can think of that might help is possibly to show a picture of Lou Lou to the Gamekeeper, and see if the thinks the cat he found was her.
Again, Im so sorry and you know where I am if you want to talk about her any time

Sorry Claire
Don't beat yourself up
-
Claire you gave her everything and you didnt fail her  you are the purrfect cat mum. Sadly the only way you will ever know for sure is if she turns up safely,so lets hope and pray she does;if its worst case scenario she is not suffering

Nothing to add that other haven't already said, just another
