That’s good then, If it were me I would set the trap today as although perhaps not a pleasant experience for a cat, it is a means to a quick end of the problem. (If you get the right cat in first time  ;D).  Also the experience of days outside cannot be very nice either.

Is it possible to borrow a trap and place it near your door? You may catch one or two hedgehogs first though.

Aw how frustrating for you.....maybe start bringing the food closer to your home, then if your sat on the step and the feral's come they will prob go and hide till you go in..... ;)

You can alway's put some out for the strays later on!  :sneaky:

Please keep those vibes coming as they seem to be working,i happened to look out the kitchen window and saw a little white nose poking in the cat flap in the back gate,it was MUPPET :wow: i went out with a box  of biscuits but she legged it down the lane and disappeared, little madam :evillaugh: i tried calling but she was no where to been seen, at least i know shes okay, now just got to figure out how to catch her or coax her back in, still no contact from her owner so that poses another dilema, do i let her know if i get Muppet or keep her and find her another home where she will be looked after properly?? after all she does have 10 others and she did tell me she had more trouble with Muppet then all the rest put together

Thanks everyone ,i still need those positive homing vibes as there is still ne news of her :(, her owners have still not been in touch so obviously she is not bothered about her, mind you she does have 10 others so i think in this case discretion is the better part of valor and i\f or when she does come back she wont be going  back to her, she will stay with me until i find someone who will love and appreciate her for the beautiful cat she is :Luv:

Absolutely not your fault, the stupid owner doesn't seem to care much if firstly she left them for weeks and weeks and then didn't take the trouble to make sure Muppet was safe in her box.  I hope she turns up soon, I'd be tempted to keep her too.

The positive side is the warm weather, the safety of the wood as opposed to a busy road and cats ability to hide themselves right under your nose.  I know everyone on here knows a lot about cats so you don't need my advice but we always used to recommend putting the cat's litter tray outside the door in the hope they'd follow their own scent home.

Fingers and toes and eyes crossed for her safe return

Hmm, I was thinking something similar as I just read this thread for the first time.  I hope Muppet comes home soon.  No chance she might be trying to make her way back to her original home is there?

She'll be back  she just got a fright and was probably disoriented when she came out of the box. This is definitely not your fault - stupid owner should have made sure the cage was properly closed ... >:( At least you are in contact with her now and can let her know when Muppet comes home. In the warmer weather she may decide it is rather fun to stay outside for a night or two - until she gets hungry ...

Definitely not your fault - the fact of the matter is the lady seemingly tried to put off taking back her older responsibility for as long as she could.

After looking after these 2 for almost 9 weeks ive finally managed to contact the lady who owns them ,i got a string of excuses as to why she had been in touch anyway the upshot was she came to fetch them today, thats when disaster struck, she fussed them for a few minutes then put them in their boxes and took them out to the car, unfortunately she hadnt shut one of the doors properly and Muppet promptly escaped and legged into the woods, after trying to find her for 2 hours we had to give up, so now im sitting here waiting for it to get a dusk so i can call her and see if she will come to me,i think i will be in for a sleepless night if she doesnt come back, as i feel responsible, if i hadnt contact her she wouldnt have come for them and they would both be safe                                                                                                                       PLEASE SEND SOME POSITIVE VIBES FOR HER SAFE RETURN PLEASE :scared:
