That is a lovely tribute Helen, I must admit I was hardly able to read to the last part  :'(  - must be something in my eye! It was lovely to hear her story - and I laughed at the little 'cone-head' trotting down the street, and had a hilarious vision of her diving out the window and then clinging on to the roof tiles like some cartoon cat  ;D

What lovely memories you have, and I hope it has helped to write about them - I think its a good way to get through the grief somehow. There will come a time when you can remember her without it hurting so much.

I agree with everyone else Helen, Tiggy knew it was time to go, and you put your feelings aside to do what was best for her.

Tiggy knows that this was your final act of love and kindness for her, and I know she'll be watching down from Rainbow Bridge and be upset that her mummy is so upset about what she had to do.  She'll be with you forever and I'm sure she'll let you know that shortly, whether it be a rainbow, or some other little sign that only she could do

I agree with the others, you made a terribly hard decision because you loved her so much.

The next few days, weeks and even months will be hard but although it is painful, cherish the memeories, let Tiggy stay with you in your heart forever.

Helen, you truly have nothing to be sorry about, you fought so many battles with her and when it came to the one you knew she couldn't beat, you listened to her. That is something to be proud of, you loved her enough to put your feelings aside and do what was best for her, and this truly was. You would only have had reason to be sorry if you had let her linger on and suffer, and you didn't. She knows how much you loved her and that you did this for her.
Please spay your cat

Thirded. Tiggy has had so much unconditional love and care throughout her long, wonderful life... she will never have any doubt of your love and care and intentions. She's safe and sound now and will be forever so. It's you we've got to look after now, Helen.

Helen, there is absolutely NO way Tiggy would've thought you would do anything other than what's best for her. I've said it before and I meant it, your love for her came through in every post you made about her.

Just wanted to thank everyone for all the support, I'm finding it quite hard at the moment and am walking round like a loony with her collar in my hand.  When her brother Benji died I was angry and kept saying it wasn't fair that he had been taken, this time all I can say is I'm sorry as it was me who chose to let her go, I hope she understands that I did it because I love her so much and din't want her to suffer...

She's probably with the Proot now, running classes on "Pillow Trampling Technique" for all the younger cats.  xx

This made me smile, quite an achievment!

I'm so unbelievably sorry, Helen - I've just arrived on this thread, got home from hospital yesterday.

I'm crying for you and for Tiggy. She had the most wonderful life with you, you were a fantastic mum to her.

I really hope that you're OK, I'm sure you know that there are dozens and dozens of us out here thinking of you and wishing you well - the next few weeks are going to be hard ones.

Many, many hugs.

Hi Helen

I had my lovely Dingle for almost 21 years from a young kitten. When she passed away 20 Oct 1997, I felt her tangible presence around the house. For about 6 months, I just glimpsed her out of the corner of my eye. I learned not to turn my head to look and found great comfort in that for the first few months which was of course the most painful time. Hope you find a similar way of getting through this.

Just wanted to thank everyone for all the messages...   I've had my little girl since I was 10 years old and I'm 30 next year, it just won't be the same without my baby, the house feels so empty without her :'(  She is being individually cremated so she will be coming home next week, I kept looking out for a rainbow today but haven't seen one yet, I asked her to let me know she got there safely.

She is at peace, but now you have to come to terms with it, which, knowing how much you loved her, is going to be hard, but were are all here to support you if you need us.
