We've frontlined Jess every month, I got some on his fur apprently it doesn't matter too much as it'll still work its way down the coat, after a couple of days I noticed that it had all gone and the fur was back to normal.

Stronghold has a smoother applicator, so you can get closer to the skin.

CC, its still a monthly thing

Gill, theres actually more in a blue capped Stronghold 0.75ml compared to a frontline of 0.5ml!
I thought the same so i awhile back i checked the boxes.

It's normal for Frontline to leave a yucky patch. Make sure puss doesn't go near any flame or spark (or doesn't light up a fag!) cos it's very flammable when wet.
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

How often do you have to apply the stronghold Gill? My vets said every 2 months?

It's amazing how on the average day you can see lots of little bits of skin, little partings in the hair etc and then on Frontline day suddenly they are just a solid, sleek mass of fur.

You know Baggy I thought exactly that the other day when I did Lexy.  I constantly see patches, but this last time I could barely see her skin!!

Happens with the Proot and every cat I've ever tried it with too  >:(

As long as it's on the back of the neck they shouldn't be able to lick it off.

Happens to Lexy too Helen. The crunchy spot is the thing that drives me insane, but seems to do no harm since most of it does get to her skin.

She is doing great thanks  ;D Eating like a horse, purring, alert and happy  :Luv:

How you describe it is exactly how it is with Tiggy's fur, wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong!

Hi Helen, how is Tiggy doing now?

When I put the frontline on mine the fur gets wet, its impossible to just put it on the skin. The fur stays wet but a few hours later its dry and the fur goes hard, it usuall stays like that for a day or two. She will get rid of the stiffness once she grooms, I think they don't touch the area for a couple of days till the smell and taste had gone.

Since Tiggy's acquaintance with fleas a few months ago (she's an indoor cat now  :shy:)  I have started to Frontline her regularly.  It says to part the fur so that the liquid is applied directly to the skin but even though I have done this as best I can she still gets patches of 'crunchy' fur where the frontline was applied, on the packaging it says' care should be taken to avoid excess wetting of the hair with the product since this will cause a sticky appearance of the hairs at the treatment spot'.  This implies that I have wet the hair too much and am therefore not doing it right.

Does everyone else get crunchy patches too?  Also I can never apply it to just two points, have had to put it on in about 4 different places each time.  Prior to the last little flea episode, despite being indoor/outdoor in those days, Tiggy hadn't had a flea for 6 or 7 years and the last time she had to be treated for fleas the sprays were all that were available so I'm new to this spot on stuff!
