It's just the way that my other half has cleared his bedside table so that the cats can sit and drink out of their glass!

Love it, who needs a clock radio anyway

All so familiar, Max is partial to the water on my bedside table as well, so much so that I now have a beaker with a lid on it

Oh my two do that too! it started when my other half used to take a pint of water up to bed - now the babies have 'their glass' (plastic) on his bedside table - he can't use the table either now obviously, or they wouldn't have anywhere to sit to drink!!

Do they often knock them over?

Not once!!! In my house it's generally my other half who knocks things over... :D

Snowy used to drink out of wine glasses, but they had to be in a certain part of the front room, she wouldn't touch it if you moved it.

Lol that's brilliant!

Snowy used to drink out of wine glasses, but they had to be in a certain part of the front room, she wouldn't touch it if you moved it. Did confuse a few friends seeing a cat walk up to a wine glass and start drinking!! I did manage to break a few of them though, fortunately never when she was around. She then liked the ceramic ones from Wilkinsons, so they have those now, although I have managed to chip some of those, so must get some new ones next week!!
Please spay your cat

My two have their own pint glass on the coffee table, needs to be kept full at all times or they complain! They really aren't keen on drinking from their water bowls - quite often they will eat their food in the kitchen, then walk through the whole house to get to the livingroom where their glass is, rather than drink from the water bowl next to the food bowls in the kitchen.  :)

All my glasses are plastic  :innocent: I don't trust myself!
For a man to truly understand rejection, he must first be ignored by a cat.

Dogs believe they are human. Cats believe they are God.

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch.

Don't worry, I wouldn't leave them lying around! I just put them on the floor while im drinking them, or on the table, either way he gets to them!

Please do be careful leaving glasses on the floor, I know in this madhouse they would be broken in two minutes flat with cut paws all round. :)

Its mad!

And I thought my cat was behaving a bit odd! But it seems he would be the odd one out if he didn't drink out of my glasses!!!

I wonder what the appeal is! I wonder if they can see the water better through the glass or if it's just the height of it!

Oh.... while im writing this post my cat just attempted to jump up onto the table but missed and did a full mid-air summer salt and landed upside down! I think I got a bigger fright than him!

He's fine now though.....looking for his next glass of water! (Or maybe he has been on the beer!)

I have started drinking pints of water as part of of my new healthy living lifestyle!!

Anyhow, thats not what this post is about...my cat has started drinking water from the glasses! He normally never drinks water, regardless of me constantly changing it so it's fresh for him!! I'm not complaining coz it's good to see him drinking so much water....but just thougt it was really odd!!!

Better watch him when we have a pint of beer though!!!

Since some lovely person said about giving Bella a high glass to drink out of with her CRF they have all taken to going to the pint glasses instead of the bowls.......its a great idea

Menue also likes to drink out of my glass! The amount of times I have left a glass on the floor and come back to see her with her whole head in lapping up the water. Crazy critters!

Fearne has her very own pint glass to drink out of, we discovered within a day or two of getting her that she prefered to drink out of a pint glass in stead of a bowl.

So it's not that uncommon, just makes sure the glass is always full.

What whisky,? I'd be dead, or at the very least needing to wait for the bed to come round in the right direction so I could get in it and then try to get to sleep with my eyes open. Not that it has happened to me of course.

Lord no hun - the bottles we refer to contain wine (you'd still need the bed to come round, but I guess you might have a better expectation of it doing so )

My sisters cat loves having his water bowl up high so he doesn't have to bend low to drink, Lexy likes it too... not sure why, just thought they liked it.

Comeon Suzi....you can tell us...we've allllll tried the sleeping with eyes open after a bender...

My neighbours have a litre glass that they top up with water for their 3 furry boys.

We ended up filling  a similar size glass so we could just top up the upstairs water bowl for our 3 and Freddie loves drinking out of the glass instead.  So... think it's quite common?

I would rather have a pint of whisky, well perhaps not quite that much.

We have a saying in our office, when faced with a challenge: 'That's a two-bottle problem'...
