Your vet nurse needs educating. Fenbendazole Brand name Panacur. Common tapeworm Dipylidium caninum. is the flea related tapeworm. I think that is right anyway.

See below taken from net:-

Fenbendazole (often abbreviated “FBZ”) is used in both large and small animals. In dogs, it is useful against roundworms, hookworms, and the more difficult to treat whipworms. It is effective against the Taenia species of tapeworm but not against the Common tapeworm Dipylidium caninum. It is also effective against giardia, a protozoan and several species of lungworm and even some flukes.

Panacur are £1.73 per tablet at Vetuk.co.uk (don't forget to go via the link on ghe coventry cat group site - so Angie gets some commission)

Tell ya what i did buy, the Panacur chewy tablets (£2.40 yipee) I bought just one tablet to see if my fuzzy cat would eat it and she did !!!
So i might go and buy 9 more of those and do them all with them

Checked ours too - last ones (in december) were £5.41 each...........

...........looks like I'll be buying online too from now on (although I'm a bit of a chicken regarding asking vets for a prescription, lol!)

My vets charge about £4.50-5.00 for milbemax so I'm going to start getting a prescription from the vets and buying it online.

I was going to say the same as Ela - but, vets have to give you a free prescription by law. That price is scandalous though, the most I have paid for Milbemax is £3.50 (and my vets aren't known for being cheap), I can get Drontal online for £1.73, but can't get Drontal into them without them foaming at hte mouth, so prefer to pay extra!!

Where is cheapest for worming tablets ? (not Drontol the other one beginning with M, Milimax ?) I cant find them on the net !!!
