I see I have cards and emails and PMs from some of you. I have had flu and let my depression get to me cos of 2 so called friends and my mum's first birthday without me on 11th January so I haven't been on my computer since 13th January.
I'll talk to you about all that later as the thing that brought me on here today is
Oh God, you know what's coming don't you?
I had to let Kitty go today and I had to let you all know.
Last week she started strugglingto walk and loosing weight and I kept putting ot off as she was still purring and eating but the last few days she's not been able to make it to her tray and weeing anywhere, including on my chest as she lay there. She had nothing to eat yesterday and I knew it was time, so I called the vet this morning and they Eddie said all her muscle had gone from around her back end and lost loads of weight since he last saw her in November and I was right to make the decision today.
I'm going to bed now and will talk when I feel up to it in a few hours or a few days, I don't know.

Mary, I am so sorry. I think we've all feared the worst for you when you weren't with us. It grieves me to think we were right, even though it's so fresh.

Mary, this is heartbreaking, I'm so sorry to hear this. Try to bear in mind that you gave Kitty a wonderful, warm, caring home for her last few months. She was able to trust you very quickly and knew how loved she was.
Please look after yourself now and get well. When you need to talk, we'll be here for you.

I'm so sorry, Mary. I feared something like this. I don't really know what to say. There are times when there are no words. You gave an old lady a happy home and it was lovely to read about her slowly coming out of her shell. I doubt that will be much consolation today :hug:

Dear Mary, I am so sorry to hear this very sad news. It is really heartbreaking. I can only echo what the others have said. You gave Kitty a wonderful, loving home when she needed it most, and cared for her and looked after her in a way that no one else had. She knewt the love you gave her and responded to it.
Thank you for all that you did for Kitty, and for your braveness in letting her go when she needed to.
Rest peacefully little Kitty, you and your Meowmy are in my thoughts and prayers xx

Others have said it far better than I could but remember Kitty was lucky to be so loved in her last months and will take that with her to the bridge.

Thanks everyone, I'm so glad she got close to me in the last few months and these last few days when she couldn't walk I know I had to let her go.

I saw this yesterday Mary but didn't know what to say and still don't. I'm so very sorry for your loss but grateful on Kitty's behalf that she was so loved by someone who knew when to perform that last act of kindness.
It's very sad that your time together was so short but it was such real quality time. In tears as I type Mary; naturally. My heart goes out to you but I'm so glad to know someone who was prepared to take on the challenge of caring for 2 beautiful oldies. Bless you Mrs. You're one in a million :cuddle:

I've just got to keep on remembering that everything happens for a reason. Everyone I have lost last year and Kitty this year, they all had to go, to stop their pain.
We all know it's very hard and we know it does get easier and if it wasn't for us putting ourselves through this pain, there would be hundreds of less loved cats on this Earth and at The Bridge.

I'm really sorry to have read this and I apologise for not reading this sooner. Kitty was a lovely cat and knew that she was loved by you and all of us here at Purrs. Winnie thought of her very highly and sends you loads of head butts, kisses and purrs.

Mary, I do feel your pain, I think most of us have had to let a beloved furbabe go over the years, it never gets any easier, but you did all you could for Kitty and her Sister. Please just believe you did everything you could for them both and they knew they were properly loved at the end. :care: :care: :care:
There will be another cat to fill your heart again. Can't remember who said, and may be paraphrasing, but you don't love the ones you have lost any less, your heart just expands. (Sure it was put far more elegantly than that),

What a lousy time you have had.
As everybody else has said, you gave her a loving home in her old age and a peaceful painless end to her life, she couldn't have asked for more.

Well I think we're all hoping that next, you get a healthy and happy little oldie under the EARS scheme, and that you have years of comfy snuggly days and nights ahead. :) :hug:

I am planning on taking on oldies once I am part time or retired. It must be heartbreaking but wonderful at the same time to know that you were able to offer warmth, love & comfort to elderly kitties who are at the end of their days.

Thanks, I keep having a sneaky look on RSPCA site but they are really old and not in good nick at the moment. It's good that they are in Foster Homes though and not in a pen in the centre. Although being in one of their pens in nice cos they get fussed all the time by volunteers and staff.
Dawn, a nest, I'm not getting any birds :naughty: :rofl:
They've not phoned me for my home visit yet but I'm not going to chase them at the moment as I'm busy with my early Spring clean that will probably take me until Christmas to finish.
