tried the treat trick this morning. Seemed to be going well when she starting licking it....

....then picked it up and spat it out!

Back to the open wide method!!! little tinker!  :evillaugh:

If she enjoys treats, like Zephyr does, I put ½ a treat on the floor then the tablet then the other ½ treat.

The trick is not to let her see you taking the pill out the packet  ;)

ah great, thanks Sam. Will try her with that in the morning. Would much prefer her doing that, can't help feeling a little guilty forcing her with them

Noroclav Tablets are presented as beef flavoured, pink circular tablets.   http://www.inhousepharmacy.co.uk/pet-care/noroclav.html?PHPSESSID=f06397317e42a78b506d3cead474dd48

I would try just putting one on the floor and see if she'll eat it.

she's on Noroclav, I vaguely remember the vet saying something about them being palatable but TBH didn't really know what he meant so have been doing the "head back, open wide" move.

If I just put it in front of her, will she eat it? I may give it a try and see what happens. Will also look up palatable in the dictionary  :shy:

is she on Synolux tablets?  If so they are palatable so should be easy to take.  With Zephyr I just throw one on the floor like a treat and he just hoovers it up!

Tabitha says a very croaky thanks to everyone. She's really perked up since starting her tablets and doesn't put up too much of a struggle when it's time for her next one....phew!

There was some chasing of Teddie last night so think she's well and truly on the mend  :Luv:

Here's a little pic of sunbathing it off!

Aw get better soon, Jet had laryngitis too a while ago the worst thing was trying to give him the anti-biotics it was like a military operation, two to hold him and one to give him the tablet.  He started to behave towards the end of the course of tablets as he knew he got chicken after taking it!!!

 ;D

My boy Zephyr recently lost his miaow ... and I took him to the vet who said he had laryngitis.  A course of antibiotics, and anti-inflamatory shot and a pain killer and he was fine within about 10 days.

don't know. I have only just become the proud owner of insured pets. In Oz it is only just taking off and is generally not well-supported. Ditto in NZ

I've rang the vets earlier and they just said bring her down if we want but didn't really say whether they thought she was poorly. I guess they can't really tell without seeing her.

Just wondered what could be wrong with her. Will maybe see how she is over night then take her tomorrow.

Question - does insurance cover vets bills if there is no treatment required?

I'd be making an appointment with the vet myself. It does sound as if she may be coming down with something. If you know your cat well you can often pick up on this sort of thing before it demonstrates clinically. With a bank holiday weekend I would err on the side of caution...

Sore Throat???

Tabitha will sit at the back door and meow to go out, a nice highish pitch meow. Yesterday she started meowing and her meow was croaky and scratchy, today she's hardly any meow at all.

She's still eating, no coughing/sneezing or gagging but doesn't seem herself, generally abit down.

Any ideas?? Could she have a throat infection or something?  :scared:
