I am fostering a lovely stray female I've named Rosie who is heavily pregnant, so the rescue I foster for will spay her after the kittens are 8 weeks old, innoculate etc. Kittens will be available for adoption also...
My blog has all the details and I will update with pictures almost daily when they're born!

(Alfie is still looking for a home too so he's on the blog as well!)

She doesn't look like she's got long to go poor thing it sickens me how people can just dump these animals its so horrible I no what I would do. I hope you find homes for all of them and yes please keep us updated with pics of mom. And babies
-
Rosie is lovely, I hope all goes well and that she gets a lovely home.
It would help if Rosie stays on her own thread and when the kittens are born to pop them each on separate threads if they are needing homes so that I can keep track on which ones have been homed and I can then move them out of this section or it may get complicated :thanks:

will do JaneyK ;) :thanks:

Looks like she's fit and healthy, Elle. Rooting for you both

Hiya, the vet was very good, very reassuring. She said it's perfectly normal, as long as it's kind of clotting blood which is was. Bright red not so good but if still that colour in 48 hours to call them but they'd expect it to be older looking blood by then. Can be up to 10 days after birth passing clots apparently.
She checked her temperature, felt her tummy, wormed her and was generally happy with her colour so she wasn't worried she'd gone anemic or anything. She asked me about the kittens, did they sleep after a feed and seem content (getting enough milk) and i think they are so all is good. Rosie has had diarrhea since the day before the birth so she recommended I feed her Royal Canin kitten dried food and that should be gentle enough on the tummy. I bought some... gawd... it was nearly 18 quid but there you go! I think the hills science plan kitten is the same stuff so i can get that online for about 13 pounds I think.
-
Good news, Elle and thanks for the update, we're all rooting for Rosie and her perfect little Trio :Luv2:
Vets tend to recommend whatever foods their Rep sells - I think some get kick-backs or commission. £18 is about average for vet-supplied foods but I bet she gave you a big old bag?
I wouldn't buy any more just yet, this kitten kibble may be stale by the time the kittens are ready to wean and Rosie'll probably go back to her regular food once her tummy clears up. RACR will have a cheaper supplier - I'd go through them for Rosie's supplies.
How're you sleeping?
-
Pleased to hear she's OK :)
-
So pleased vet thinks she is OK
-
Any news please?
-
Rosie is still available for adoption through RACR www.racr.org.uk she is currently in another foster home in Burton on Trent but transport can be arranged.
(I'm in the process of giving up fostering as I've got family issues which are making it difficult)
-
Sorry to hear that, Elle. I'd missed you on here. Hope things work out for you soon.
