After a lifetime of making do with sleeping on second hand mattresses and other folks beds I rashly decided last week to make a splash and buy a brand new bed . I had been to someone elses home the previous week and seen a really attractive pine bedstead and I wanted one.
So the delivery day came and I spent half the night putting the bed together (flat pack groan) and moving various mattresses around the bedrooms etc.
Finally after lots of cursing and throwing things around the moment came and I sank back into a warm deep pile of fluffy soft down and feather duvet and pillows and switched off the light. Absolute Bliss
Some time later in the early hours I awoke suddenly and heard the catflap banging back and forth like a western saloon doors and I heard Peanut thunder up the stairs for a midnight snack.
The next moment there was an almighty thump on the bottom of the bed and silence.
I turned the light on and crawled down the end of the bed and there looking rather bemused was Peanut sniffing the bed with by now a rather sore head
Poor old Pea . He always jumps onto the bed for a kiss and cuddle before he goes for a nosh and he hadn't expected to find a bed footboard

I thought cats could see in the dark
Cats' nocturnal vision is superior to that of humans, however they can't see in total darkness.

Aww, bless!! What a cruel thing to do to poor PEanut though!! Have to say it is one of the things that put me off buying my new bed last year, as Pebbles could only get on by scrambling up the bottom - might have to look into it again this year, as I dont have that prob now.
