Thankfully we have had a miracle today Gulliver and Tinkerbelle went to their new home together and then Thumbellina and Thomasina went together. I will miss them but in a way am so relieved as the workload has been horrenous lately. That leaves mum and 3 kittens from this family still looking.

Poor little mites, hopefully they'll get over their piranha attitude.

Although my coworker adopted two kittens from the RSPCA in York last year and the boy is still very food greedy - his mom had 9 kittens so they didn't get enough food to start out.

He still, a year on steals every bit of food, raids the fridge (yes he can open it) and loves crossants and will growl if you try and take it away.

Looks like only time will cure this and maybe their little bodies are also trying to catch up so they always feel hungry.

Terrible that kittens are so scared of being hungry that they fight over food.  :(

Still all behaving like piranhas and fighting for every morsel though in fairness,Thomasina,Swifty and Gulliver have slowed down a little as has Jess the mother cat; but Thumbellina, Lilliput,Tinkerbelle and Titania are unbelievable dangerous when food is in sight.
They are all passing huge solid lumps now and in the litter tray.

Poor little things - I just hope they are not scared for life. Hopefully in time they will realise that food is available for their tums.

Just thank Goodness you have them in your safe warm loving hands.

Good news on the poop  :)

Their poop is solid and they are using their litter tray, they are lovely and affectionate but the minute they see food they rip your hands to shreds.

Right now I want to kill the evil woman that did this to them.

She has done enough damage already, dont give her a guest room in your head.

I hope that the security of regular meals and individual feeds will gradually have an impact on their poor bruised liitle psyches.

They have been examined thoroughly and vet says its psychological. Mental scaring from being starved so much is causing them to race to eat the food and filling them with air. Now somehow got to find a way of splitting 7 kittens up at mealtimes so they dont see one another and hopefully they will learn that there is no competition for the food and gradually eat more slowly.

Do hope the vet can help

So do I because this is breaking my heart to watch and listen to the constant cries for more food and then see them attacking each other, I have added a load of boiled water to the food this morning to try to kid their tummies that they have had a bigger meal than theyve had.Its also wearing me down and I really am a miserable old boot at the minute, sorry to moan but I need to get it off my chest.
I guess the main problem is they have the brain of a 10plus week old kitten and the tummy size of a 5 week old. They are bright and putting weight on and their coats are improved so guess I`m doing something right. Been on the go since 5 and still got 6 more pens to clean so moan over and back to work.

I have decided to take all of these back to the vets tomorrow; the poo is much better though not perfect but I cant cope with the constant food fights and wailing for food, this has gone on for 16 days now and to be honest I am at the end of my tether, they will eat anything in sight and fight each other and if I give extra food it overloads their tummies and poo goes runny again, am just at a total loss for once, they eat and their bellies bloat then go down again,if they still have worms they must be super tough ones, I`m still smiling but hiding the tears well.

excellent news!!  I remember when Tilly did her first solid poo, we were SO happy!  I can't imagine what it must be like times 7!!

It was Mum plus 7 and none were litter trained, only hell if you cry over it, I`m still smiling and they are litter trained now and almost there. Just need to sort out the food aggression, they were so badly starved they are "food proud".

Its more a case of which particular type of parasite that is causing the problem Des, each preparation covers some but not all. I have had some really bad cases this year and Milbemax has just not been up to the job.

After 2 long weeks I have just had a firm poo in the tray it seems the panacur is the most effective in this case; just for good measure I have given all my young kittens panacur this morning and think I will be sticking with it for now.

Aww, fingers crossed for them. The locum vet who saw my kittens said that she has heard that Stronghold might not be as effective at the moment, but nothing about Milbemax (although she suggested Drontal rather than that).

Oh yes I am sure you are  ;D

From a none expert it just sounds a lot of meds for kittens and wondered if the combination may be prolonging the problem? I am sure the vets know best though  ;D
