Ducha is playing games with his Puppy pads and sulking cos I forgot to put his pillow back and wouldnt move so I could put it at the head end.........sigh

He really is behaving very well but costing a fortune in Puppy pads and have just had to order another 100 and hope they arrive before he goes through 30 more!

As for me I slept very late after Franta started meowing and maybe fell asleep mid-meow cos so tired..........after seeing another post a few mins ago wonder if he is going deaf although he can hear a pouch opening and makes him jump, so guess he can hear me shouting at him in my sleep  :innocent:

I dont know Alison...........I think he is just fed up of being in a cage and when he semi escaped yesterday he thought..........Right I got her now  ..............cos he keeps trying to go to the same side but I have it blocked!

There is no way of telling how well his wrist is but I dont think its much better, but that could be cos he cant move around much in the cage and he is losing or has lost his muscles.

He has been a norty little man tonight, wet everything in his cage cos he moved the puppy pads and then when out he got round end of cage and tried to escape.......I dont do little places well and was holding his tail but he just pulled and pulled and had to let go cos was scared he would damage himself.

I dont have anywhere he can go where he hasnt got something to jump on cos dont have a lot of space like you Liz...........well guess with less cats  I should have but I dont.....sigh

I need to stop him going up and down stairs so guess he will have to be shut in the bedroom but thats not good either as Misa and especially Sasa are using it during the day and night.

My vet wont have any ideas except to say try not to ket him jump up but that just wont be possible unless I babysit him every minute of the day and thats not possible either.

He is a very stubborn cat as most birmans are and very determined to do what he wants, he was sulking big time after me having to change the whole cage and in one sitting he gave me a complete washer load.

He is definately staying in his cage now for the next two weeks except when he comes out at feeding times and then straight back.

Its impossible to change the whole cage when he is in it and need to get everythingh as flat as possible so he doesnt catch his feet but today he has been kicking up everything.

Just hope the new puppy pads are not causing a problem cos we havent had this with any of the others.

I have no advice to offer I'm afraid but I acn understand your concern that the leg is getting weaker through lack of use.   Daytime walkies and nights in the cage sounds good but I don't know how you stop him from jumping without removing all your furniture .  Maybe the vet will have some ideas.

Gill maybe you need to talk to the vet before you start letting him out for walkies just to be on the safe side

To stop him jumping you need to have nothing for him to jump at sadly - we know this as Puma made a break for freedom and still had his fixator attached

You are rught Sue, mealtimes are the highlight of his day,

I feel so sorry for the little man and most meal times or puppy pad changing time he comes out of his cage. He is not allowed to do more than that and he pushes so hard with his head I know he jusy wants to go wandering.

I am worried about his back leg cos he has lost the strength in it and would love to let him wander more cos he hides the leg so I cant to catphysio on him.

It seems like 6 yrs already that he has been in the cage but only 4 weeks, am wondering if next week I could let him walk around as long as he doesnt try jumping up on things.................it will make it harder for him to go back in the cage and my real worry is that if he takes off, I just cant move quick enough to catch him.

Maybe I should wait six weeks and then start this and he sleeps in the cage?

Well, I reckon Ducha's allowed a little kick-back - he's been generally very well behaved, and I guess mealtimes are perhaps his highlight of the day.   :Luv: Sending gentle snoozles for your splendid little feller.   :cat rub:

Trouble is they dont wait long grrrrrrrr

Mine arrived yesterday after over a week since the order and I was in bed too, By the time I got halfway down stairs he had his finger on the door bell just pressing!

I think they seem Ok but the first two packs which arent available now, were better but cant be bought any longer.

It was so peaceful without a doorbell but missed 3 parcels ..............sigh

Ducha has learnt how to kick up the puppy pads in the cage and yesterday gobbled his food and made himself sick, so 3 puppy pads later, he was finally dry!

Well, my puppy pad order arrived earlier today... only I was upstairs in bed and OH in the shower, so neither of us could get to the door in time (my Stannah is so slow).  Rung courier and they will attempt delivery again tomorrow.

How are your supplies?

There's a puppy pad famine here too at the moment (we have them in lots of places due to Sweep's habits).  OH just told me there's two left - I had previously asked him to tell me when he starts the last pack of 30.

No sign of puppy pads grrrrrrrrrrr, I emailed them last night to ask where they were but no reply as yet!

I woke up late this morning and Ducha was as good as gold, just snoozing in his cage waiting for his food.

I am sure I am going to reap the rewar5ds from him once he is out of his cage  :innocent:

He is now flaked out asleep and hope he wil stay this quiet until tomorrow when I go and get his stronghold.

I cant tell how his leg is but we are going through mountains of puppy pads!

Also havent been able to exercise his bag leg cos he hides it........sigh

I think he is doing quite well in his cage now and I allow him to just come out the door so I can change his puppy pads but he would love to go walkies.

Compared to Franta he is so much better behaved and eating well.

We have until beginning of March to go to but will need to speak to his vet cos I dont know what happens then, do I just let him out and hope or what!

He is such a little devil cat that he will be trying to jump onto the bed and all sorts and unless he is in a cage there is no way I can stop him jumping up on things.
