Title: what a welcome
Post by: alisonandarchie on August 15, 2007, 19:31:44 PM
Just got back from holiday and whilst we were away I had to arrange for someone to feed Scruffy and daughter our permanent visitors. Archie went to the cattery, where he was really spoilt by real cat lovers. I think some catteries  can be foremost money making businesses. Anyway Scruffy and daughter were so pleased to see me they presented me with a mouse at my feet with lots of meows, how sweet!

In reply to Ela's question Scruffy appeared in our garden last year living up to her name with fur all matted and greasy. I presumed she was a stray but later found out her owners lived nearby. Scruffy and daughter do not have a catflap or outside shelter at their house. There are other issues as well but to cut a long story short they more or less live with me. My husband has built a wonderful cosy weatherproof shelter for them. As I write this they are sitting by me!  :)

Thats nice of you, are you responsible for their flea/worm tretments and vet care then?

My son is going to take a picture of Scruffy and daughter later so I can post it. We call scruffys daughter parki. scruffy and archie are very sweet when they play together chasing all over the garden and play fighting. The situation with the owners is a bit complicated.

don't know what happened there my reply posted itself before I had finished! I last saw the owners about a year ago when we went to tell them that scruffy was ill in our garden. They came around but we were shocked when they did not take her home. After this David built a shelter. I beleive they got an earful at the vets once when they took scruffy and the vet told them off about the state she was in. I do not know the exact details but after this they take the three cats, yes there is another one, for their yearly injections and checks. However I would take over their care if necessary. Scruffy is now looking wonderful and fluffy and perhaps I should rename her! :Luv:
