Little Miss escorts me to the corner shop....................

Oh all three of mine escort me to the shop/bin, half way to the bus stop quite regularly, two of them have been known to shout after me asking where I thought I was going without them!

The very unusual thing about this occasion was Little Miss actually walking straight into the shop after me, bold as you like, no waiting outside for me to come back out!

Many (very very many) years ago my white cat Polly used to come with me all the way to the bus stop if I went to town and waited until I returned.  The only problem was that there were two bus routes and if I caught the 'other' one, I'd have to go down the road to fetch Polly back later on.  She also escorted my children to school, and back again although she didn't wait all day for them, she just knew what time to go.  The funny thing is, she was quite a vicious cat, one of those who just lashes out without warning and I had so many tetanus jabs because of her, I developed an allergy! She used to lie in my daughter's pram, draped around the baby's head like a fur hat.  People used to come and knock the door to tell me" there's a cat on your baby!"  She never ever hurt a small child, but adults had to beware.  I loved her to bits though.  The pic is of baby polly and my current hooligan Harvey as a kitten.

When I still lived at home, my mam's cat the late and missed Gizmo decided she woud escort me and our late rottie/dobbie cross round the corner to the shops.  She stayed across the round from the shop until I came out and got the dog and then walked home with us.  I was walking along with dog one side of me and cat the other with people laughing thinking I had took both out for the night.

Out she trotted with me, I opened the gate, held it open for her to come with me.

She trotted along with me, bottle brushing her tail at every potential danger (other people ) and eventually we get to the shop and I go in.................

So does she I tell her she's not allowed in the shop and has to wait outside so I put her back outside. In she comes, shouting at me for such rudeness after her walking with me and protecting me. The man in the shop is looking at me like I am stark raving bonkers and i put her back out again.

She's really not good at taking the hint so eventually I have to pick her up while I pay for my stuff

Off we go again with her walking me back home, bottle brushing at more very dangerous people and a dog on a lead.

That shopkeeper is going to have some story to tell his family when he gets home tonight!
