Lol, I'm having enough trouble keeping up with these 2, after covering my lap when I wanted dinner and looking put out when I moved them, they are now flying about like crazy things. They keep attacking each other - should I be worried about it? I've never had more than one cat so I don't know what kind of behavior to expect. Theres no growling or hissing and they don't seem to imflict any damage so I think they are just playing but it looks a bit violent. They are currently

As for names, I talked to OH and I think its going to be Amber and Chilli, ran all the names past him and those were the ones he liked.

I like Amber and Saffron. Wouldn't be allowed to recommend Chilli as my friends dog is called Chili.

lay me down take it slow I'm ready to stumble, sing & then swing low

just to be provocative, how about Saffron (saffie for short). Also an allusion to the orange/ginger colouring, and quite a feminine name - chilli and saffron ..........  ;D

Reference the insurance, I would forget any illness they just had and tell insurance company they are rescues with no history , end of story but do it quick cos there is a 14 day period before insurance kicks in .  :shify:

I like Chilli and Amber  ;D  How about Chilli and Paprika  :rofl: :rofl:

They are definitely all settled now! Took some pictures of them flopped out on the sofa yesterday so I'll post those tonight. We've decided they will have to stay outside when we're sleeping for now as we didn't get much sleep sat night and OH was very stroppy yesterday! Last night we put a episode of Lost on the upstairs tv and let them sit on the bed while we were watching it, (one on OH's chest and the other half under the duvet under my arm!) then we put their bed just outside the door when we wanted to sleep and they seemed happy enough curling up in it and didn't meow at the door at all.

Still thinking about names and like these at the moment:

Casey
Leah
Amber
Skittle
Chilli
Wispa

I'm thinking maybe Amber for Mitzie, the darker one who is more chilled out and soppy, and Skittle for Nana, the lighter one who is a total livewire and keeps trying to climb everything!

I've been thinking about the insurance for both of them and wondering whether the illness they had whilst at the rescue is going to affect it. I was under the impression that they just had the sniffles as no-one ever said otherwise but when I picked them up there seemed to be some confusion as to whether they had been vaccinated (which they have) and the girl from the cattery mentioned cat flu. I didn't think much of it at the time as they are better now, but having read things about cat flu, I'm more concerned now.

They've settled far quicker than I'd have imagined, spent a lot of time on our laps and both sat on OH's parents for a while when they came over last night! They were a bit of a pain last night, settled down on the bed fine and then jumped all over us at 5.30! I've got mitzie sat on my knee at the moment!

Still undecided on names. I like the idea of maybe naming them after sweeties:

skittle
rolo
munchie
smartie

etc

OH keeps thinking of beers to name them after!!!!

I also still like Leah and Casey but OH didn't seem that impressed! He's just been calling them green and purple after their collar colours!

The Ginger girls are a joy we have one Lunar as she is way out there and for 2 months we thought she was a boy - she is a feral girl and leads our Ginger mob - Bailey, Phoenix, Sailor and Lynx who is her full brother but a cuddle bum whereby Miss Lunar still hisses and will use claws but is a poppet really under all the hissing

The photo shows Lunar wearing her heart stripes for all to see that she has a wonderful nature really!

I love casey and leo, but they are both girls! (V unusual to have 2 girl gingers I know!)

I know they're girls  :)  I went to school with a female Casey and I think Leo is unisex, maybe Leah instead though if it's not?  My Tiggy was a ginger girl, they really are the best  :)

Thinking of names now... How about on the ginger ninja / teenage mutant ninja turtles theme, variations of:

Main characters

    * Leonardo (Blue) —
    * Raphael (Red) —
    * Michelangelo (Orange) —
    * Donatello (Purple) —
    * Master Splinter —
    * April O'Neil —
    * Shredder —
    * Casey Jones —

I'm thinking Casey & Leo

The ginger ninjas have arrived!!

Not the best pictures, but my Digi SLR is in the car and its raining and i'm a wuss!

They seem perfectly settled already, they have explored a few rooms of the house but not all of them. They havn't paid much attention at all to the fish except discovering that the top of the large tank is warm and therefore a good place to sleep. They love their bed, although I think its less because its warm and more because all their catnip/valerian toys were in it until this morning so it smells gooood! So far their personalities are pretty different, Mitzie is quieter and has spent a lot of time sitting on my lap, Nana is the troublemaker and has tightroped walked the hall hand rail and tried to climb the laundry airer after playing with all the socks!

They need new names now, Simon agreed that maybe Cheatara was a little silly, so we want 2 names that go well together really.

Pics!

Mitzie enjoying my leather pc chair

Nana goofing around on the stairs

Nana - 'look what a pretty belly I have!'

Nana being stretchy!

Mitzie - 'you know you aren't allowed to stop that now...'

Nana - 'Are you still pointing that thing at me?'

Nana - 'I'm hiding because I don't think I'm meant to be pulling all your laundry off this thing'

Good luck, and everyone, please bear in mind we dont know why this rescue have been like this - it is incredibly busy for all rescues at the moment, and they might have a lack of volunteers. Just because other rescues can home that quick doesn't mean they all should - very few have paid staff and do rely on people doing things voluntarily. And while these cats may have been there longer than necessary (although I wouldnt let them go till the vet had OK'd it either), if this rescue weren't here, these cats may have still been on the streets.
Please spay your cat
