Just to say that last time we have a family of ferals that urgently needed to be moved from a roundabout in Leeds city centre, we put an appeal out to our members in our newsletter.

We asked people to look outside their window and if they could see a shed and a garden then they might be able to help. People often think that ferals need acres of space to roam and are put off by it, where in essence they need shelter, food and some garden and greenery. Our threesome have now found themselves a new home and are adjusting well. I don't know whether the shelter has some sort of membership scheme, but it can be useful to contact people like that as they are generally already "cat" people.

Just my tuppence worth!

Sunderland, Tyne & Wear
Feb/March 2008 Urgent Appeal for Fosterers:

Pawz for Thought in Sunderland is currently trapping a colony of young feral cats who will need socializing prior to rehoming. They cannot be put back to the same area they came from, as it is unsafe. All their fosterers are full, and there are still lots more cats to come in.

The cats will be neutered, but will need caring, patient homes to help them adjust, and to slowly socialize them to a domestic environment, so they they may then be rehomed.

If you might be able to to help, please call: 0191 5496101

This can be really rewarding, helping a nervous semi-feral cat by winning it's trust and helping it on it's way to a new life - but you will need to have bags of patience, time to spare, and no expectations of how long the process might take!
Please call as above if you are up for a challenge!

Please cross-post to other cat forums!
