Post by: Iccy n Princess on November 18, 2006, 09:47:09 AM
my 4 yr old spayed female princess has gotten to where she will get on anything I may have laying around- be it a coat, hat, my teddy bear! she gets on top of it and she makes muffins........ this is not a joke post!

not sure what makes muffins mean.

Is she showing signs of Kneeding - treading with her front paws? If it is this then its a security/affection thing and harps back to being a kitten and suckling. Cats are likely to do it on soft fluffy fabrics.

I too do not know what muffins means.

Or are you saying she acts like an unneutered tom if so perhaps she is Hermaphrodite. and a word with the vet may be the best thing.

I'm  pretty sure that 'making muffins' is the same thing as kneading - we call it 'making butter'!

It's the action baby kittens use on mum's milk-bar to encourage the milk to let down more quickly, there's nothing wrong with it at all but if she's doing it really a lot then maybe she is lonely and wanting a few more loves or something?

But mounting things indicates something somewhat more...."adult!" :shy:

Sounds like she's just mixing her scent with yours. Nothing really to worry about, one of cats is the same!
