Look on the bright side, get a big bunch or asparagus tips and tell them they are potatoes  :evillaugh:

is it true that waitrose is a southern thing?

Whatever is it there aren't enough. I really miss having them in London. The nearest one to here is nearly 20 miles in Ramsgate. The staff are all polite and if you ask where something is, they take you to it with a smile. One of my friends worked in Chichester branch part time when he was at school and said they have full-time people to cater for the staff and they even amke home-made cakes etc for them and proper meals like roasts etc. The staff are "Partners" and are all given shares and get more for each year they are there. Its owned by John Lewis. I used to think M&S food departments were the best but Waitrose is much better.

Unlike in Sainsbury's in Broadstairs when I asked where the Hollandaise is, the "kid" said "I don't even know WHAT it is" sniggered - and walked off  >:(
