Title: Recently joined - saying hello - PHOTOS ADDED
Post by: Nicola (RockysMum) on May 28, 2009, 11:24:45 AM
Hi All,

I joined the site 8 weeks ago, unfortunately I found purrs because my cat died very suddenly and i was looking for support from like minded people. Everyone has been so kind and its really helped so I thought it was about time i posted on here to introduce myself properly as all my posts previously have been on the rainbow bridge section.

After losing my 9 year old tabby boy, Rocky to kidney failure, I still have 2 other gorgeous toms - Jake and Bailey - 10yrs and 8 yrs.
jake is a very friendly but also very shy black and white boy and bailey is a big soppy lap cat with a long black coat.

They are both real characters and I'll post some pics soon and share some of their antics! :Luv:

Nicola

OK, I'm going to attempt to add pictures.....hopefully I can manage it!!

This is Jake, my oldest boy. He was a kitten i rescued from a group of feral cats that were taken in by CPL.He's a real gent. Very dignified and gets awful embarrassed if we laugh at his antics with da bird. He's really affectionate but easily spooked. He's also very determined when he wants a bit of a cuddle and will sit there pawing me delicately until i stop what I'm doing and give him a stroke!

Jake has scarring on his voice box from the bout of cat flu he had when he was tiny so he can barely meow....it's more of a squeak....although it definitely improves when he's on route to the vet!!

I did it!!

OK, a couple of pics of my poor wee Rocky, who died recently. he was my middle boy and the biggest character of them all. Always in scrapes - some of them serious - but a real little survivor. He was a rescue cat and so malnourished when i got him that i thought he was only weeks old when in fact he was almost 6 months. I had him for 9 years and of all 3 I had a special bond with him so I miss him terribly :Luv2:. I've been pouring my heart out about him over on the rainbow bridge thread :-[ and it's really helped. Miss you wee guy

Finally, this is Bailey. He's the youngest and is the most affectionate cat i have ever encountered. He's always demanding lap space and follows us both around constantly wailing for attention. he's huge too but doesn't realise it so attempts to balance himself on any lap or squeeze into any space next to us no matter how small! He loves to fetch and will fetch and return things for hours. We always tire of the game before he does!
You'll see from the photo that he likes to carry things around and then puts them in his bed for safe keeping - he tried it with a balloon I got for valentines day and eventually when he realised it wouldn't go in his bed he just carried around the house with him!

He carried it around for weeks, even when it was completely deflated...it was hilarious to watch because he just couldn't understand why it floated away whenever he fell asleep and let go of it

Thing about black cats is they are so difficult to photograph well but when you do, they are stunning  :Luv:. Think it's the way the eyes stand out against the black fur.

Love all 3, so sorry about Rocky
