Does anyone remember me saying that I wasnt going to foster kittens again? hmmmm :innocent: - just in today, found under hedge :tired: Anyone got any idea how old they look from these pics? I'm afraid I'm useless at kitten ages :innocent:

They are just stunning Gillian :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:
They look in excellent condition. The coat of the B&W one in particular looks very healthy.
Difficult to age as pics can be so misleading size wise but perhaps 5 to 6 months?
-
They are gorgeos and yoiunger than Lupin I reckon ;D
-
I would say between 4 and 6 months but both gorgeous ;D
-
I'd guess at 5-6 months too, they both little cuties :Luv: What are their personalities like? You think they'd be more frightened if they've been dumped under a hedge by their so called owners :(
-
They are gorgeous, not wonder you couldn't say no to fostering them. :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Aww they are lovely - I'd say 5 months and they don't look badly treated so maybe they are lost?
Have they been checked for chips?
-
They are quite frightened, trembling, growling and hissing, don't think they like me much at the moment lol! Personality wise - hard to tell while they're still hissing at me, but tabby more outgoing, black & white just thinks I'm an alien :evillaugh: Yes, I thought they seemed in pretty good condition too, but the lady that found them said they were hanging around under this hedge since yesterday, she'd left them to start with thinking they belonged to someone, but later in the evening they were still there, so she took them in. She has, apparently, asked around neighbours and put leaflets through doors, but had no response as yet.
She couldnt keep them with her, so she called round everywhere to get them in, - no room anywhere of course, except my ;) safety gate area, which aint ideal, but will do for now, until I can think of somewhere else to put 'em :-:
They only came this evening so will get them checked for chips next week. :)
-
Theyre lovely, wee tabby reminds me of Amber
-
just at the not so cute kitten stage where the novelty has worn off, poor little things
-
What gorgeous little guys! :) Glad they're with you, Gillian.
-
Some more pics of Georgie Girl (shamelessly named in tribute to my gorgeous George tabby (RIP) ;) ) and Dixie Lee ;) They are now in here (my work/computer room) as it was a nightmare trying to keep them in the safety gate area of the outside pen. Trouble is, once 10pm comes, they are going to have to move to the bathroom because Chico comes in here then! :-:
I think I am seeing double here - Georgie Girl is the absolute spitting image of my foster cat Willow and Dixie Lee is same markings (even down to the little white flash along her mouth) as foster cat Millie!

Ooh yummy yummy yummy :Luv:
Hope the hissing stops soon!
-
They look pretty relaxed Gillian, are you sure you're nit just making it up about the hissing so you can keep them :evillaugh:
-
Georgiegirl is so different from side and front, thought it was a diffent cat, from front she looks a bit like Elsa?
Dixie is fab ;D
-
Oh yes, forgot to say they've stopped all the silly grumbling and hissing etc now. That was the other reason I moved them, they were upsetting Milly and Molly and Sooty out in the pens, and the kittens were reacting to their hisses and growls. They are indeed very relaxed, purry and sweet girlies now :Luv2: however come 10pm that may not be the case :scared:
-
Sounds like lots of juggling going on there Gillian  Fingers crossed that homes are just around the corner
-
They are lovely :Luv: I think they will be snapped up pretty quickly. At least I hope so. Will they be rehomed together or separately?
-
Yes, juggling and shuffling, bit ridiculous really, I have too many again :tired:
I don't know about them being snapped up Susanne - the Trust has over 60 cats and kittens in at the moment, there are 4 kittens at one fosterer and 4 or 5 at another - all younger than my two and even they havent been snapped up. Rehoming is awful quiet at the moment. I think I will try and rehome them together.
-
The girls are being blood tested and checked over tomorrow. Dixie has got one hec of a kink in her tail, possible break at some point maybe?
-
Both blood tested, and negative ;D - oh, and Dixie is a boy, oops, should have gone to specsavers? lol! :evillaugh: Still, I guess Dixie is ok for boy's name as well, do ya think? or any other suggestions......
-
Definately a boys name ;D
-
Definately a boys name ;D
Oh good, coz I've just put them on our website with those names. I flea treated them as they were scratching like mad, seems like they were riddled with 'em :( Now my cats are scratching - great >:(
-
Oh dear!
-
Dixie and Georgie Girl have got a new home, yippee!! ;D Mind you, their new owners can't have them till 8th Oct, as they are going on holiday - so I've got them for another 3 weeks, won't be getting my dining room back just yet then! :tired:
-
Woo! Great news ;D You won't know what to do with yourself with all the space once they've gone to their new home :evillaugh:
-
Great news ;D
-
So pleased they have a new home ;D
-
Yes, I shall look forward to having my dining room back! Getting the kittens neutered either this week or next, prob next, as its the funeral of my friend this week and I don't know whether I'm coming or going at the moment. So, if I get them both neutered next week, they've got another week with me to recover fully and be ready to go to their new home the following weekend.
-
sorry things are so tough at the moment
-
Both kittens neutered today - simple...you would think...... but no! Vet checking them in this morning, said 'oh dear' - turns out little boy Dixie (who I initially thought was a girl anyway :innocent: ) didnt have his bits on the outside - so a bigger op was needed of course, to find 'em . Got back home, got a phone call from vet to say both kittens been done but..........huge apologies from them, the nurse who presented Dixie for neutering put him down as a girl - so they went in at the flank. So mistake realised, they then had to go in mid line as well to find his testicles.
Poor little Dixie therefore has an enormous shaved flank and all his tummy shaved, he is going to get a complex, all this confusion about his gender :evillaugh:
Good thing is though, vets have waived the cost of Dixie's op by way of apology :)
They both came home with collars on - well they removed those in 5 minutes flat
-
Poor Dixie! Glad they got there in the end though :care: Did they actually open him up at the side too Gillian?
-
Oh dear, poor Dixie :( So pleased that they both have new homes though ;D
-
poor Dixie that is awful
-
Poor Dixie! Glad they got there in the end though :care: Did they actually open him up at the side too Gillian?
Yep, they sure did, so he has 2 wounds :( one on flank and one on tummy/groin area - 2 lots of stiches for him to pull out  Actually so far they've both been good and are just licking around the areas rather than pulling at stiches, just as well coz there's no way they'll keep those collars on!
New owners are going to be very surpised  its annoying too, because of Dixie's bigger op, his stiches can't come out for 10 days, but they are both due to go to new home on the 8th Oct, so might have to delay them picking him up - Georgie's stiches can come out in 7 days which will be next Wed - so I'm going to see if Dixie's could come out then too, can't see how much difference a few more days make?
-
So pleased that they are going to a forever home both beautiful kitties, sorry to hear about Dixies op mistake, hope hes ok lots of   for both of them
Denise
-
Poor Dixie and hope both heal quick
-
Dixie's got to go back to the vets tomorrow, he's got a bulge/lump where his midline op was done :(
-
I do hope he is OK
-
Hope it's something that can be easily sorted :care:
-
The lump at Dixie's op site is just fatty tissue vet reckons - it was same vet that operated on him (twice >:( ). I was a bit annoyed as both kittens have pulled out their flank stitches, and vet said oh and what happened to their elizabethen collars then? well they pulled them off within 5 minutes and no way would they keep them on, what am I supposed to do?!! He also said, the fatty tissue swelling is because Dixie is active - so I need to try and keep them both quiet and still - WHAT?! they are 5 1/2 month old kittens for gods sake
So I was a bit cross, as vet made me feel like naughty child for not keeping their collars on and letting them run around like mad things :innocent: - has he forgotten the mistake about Dixie's op which resulted in him being opened up TWICE?, hmmmm >:(
-
Sounds like you need a new vet!
-
Don't have any choice with the foster cats unfortunately, this is the vet practice the Trust uses.
-
Kittens have got the green light to go - so will be off to their new home tomorrow. ;D I'm taking them over there, and I shan't cry when I leave....... :innocent:
-

-
How did it go Gillian?
-
How did it go Gillian?
Really well thanks :thanks: they travelled well in the car (except when I hit the brakes when stoopid bus pulled out in front of me >:( but they settled back down again, its about a 20 min drive.
Got to the house, took them straight into living room, they hopped straight out of the carrier and started exploring - not scared AT ALL lol! Made it much easier for me to leave them and I didnt get upset at all. :)
-
So pleased it went well ;D ;D
-
That's great, hopefully they'll keep you updated on how they're doing :)
