League Against Cruel Sports

 Friday 24 April 2009
Dear Mr Desmond Swayne ,
RE. HUNTING

The Hunting Act 2004 is an important and popular piece of legislation. In a recent IPSOS Mori poll, 75 per cent of British people did not want to see a return to hunting and 71 per cent of the rural community backed the ban on fox-hunting.

It is essential that the police take wildlife crime seriously and enforce the rule of law consistently.

I would be grateful if you could join your colleagues in supporting the Act and by adding your signature to EDM 481.

Please Please help to ensure the ban stays in force to stop such awful cruelty in the name of Human \"enjoyment\". Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
Tanya

Yeah i know!!  :censored: >:(

I think it means he actually used to do it and enjoyed it???   :mad2:

I have asked him to explain.

Sadly down here in the New Forest area i bet it was very popular with the toffs with all this land and many foxes. I think the area is heavy with conservative supporters.

Please just don't let them win an election.  :'( I know labour (and mainly all of the parties) arn't great but at least Labour have done some things for our animals and wildlife.

Mike Hancock (my local MP) has already signed this EDM...he's like that (well he is Lib Dem  :) )

I really wish that the Lib Dems were a stronger party, Labour have turned this country into a nanny/police state and the Conservatives are only interested in upholding thier ideas of middle and upper class values.  >:(

I'm really starting to smell whiffs of revolution in the air from numerous sources......the current goverment are that disliked..... :innocent:

Anyway, i'm appaled at your MP Tan, perhaps it might be worthwhile someone reminidng of this fact when he loses his seat in the next election!

I'll take my militant butt elsewhere now

Just received a letter of reply in the post from my local MP Eric Illsley which reads:-

"Thank you for your email of 25th April 2009 regarding EDM 481: Public Support for the Hunting Act.

I agree that the motion raises an important issue and I have already added my signature.  It was not without considerable effort that the legislation was passed and I am dsappointed that the law has not been more effectively and consistently enforced.

Thank you for taking the time to write to me on this important subject.

Yours sincerely,

Eric Illsley MP"

He does seem to be an animal lover - pity he hasn't more power and more aren't like him  :(
