I know its not long since Christmas, mind you its March this week!! Where has the time gone ;D
Anyway a nice new mid-summer money raiser for needy cats is gonna be a CAT SHOW. So start digging out the best pictures of your friends and I will post some more info shortly on how its gonna work. Was up all night thinking about this .............groannnnnnn ,,,,,,,,,,,,and I have so much work to do on it.
I expect that entries will need to be in around mid-may and of course there will be an entrance fee which will all go to a needy cause to be decided.
I just wanted you to know this is going to happen so it wont be a mad rush when the opening is announced.
Full rules as governed by the PIYH (Purrs in your Heart) Foundation will be enforced and all this info will be here shortly ;D ;D
-
Fantastic idea Gill. Am so excited :)
-
Thanks, I must get working on sorting out all the classses and stuff and not leave it to a last minute panic
-
If you need any help just give me a shout :)
-
Thanks for the offer ;D
-
Sounds great ... me thinks someone (Linda Bengalbabe) will be entering the professional shots of the bengal family >:( Lets hope the judges aren't swayed by quality photos!
-
I think quality cats will win over quality photos

Sounds great ... me thinks someone (Linda Bengalbabe) will be entering the professional shots of the bengal family >:( Lets hope the judges aren't swayed by quality photos!
Don't worry Sam...between us we can make the bengals look like Tabbies :evillaugh:
Sorry my Lenny Wenny...me loves you!!
-
But Gill they are all Quality cats
-
Definately they are all qulaity cats but what I trying to say is that professional photos will not be given any preference at all
Bengals are tabbies....................I tthink not
I will be announcing classses and stuff in due course but there will be noooooooooooooooo insider dealing
My goodness I gotta watch you lot like a hawk, you be taking advantage of me :'(
All I can say is that there will be loads of classes for everyoone to enter their cats in, pedigree and moggie, old and young but I need some help.......................I need a name for a class of cats that will be 15yrs old plus................not Senior please.
One more thing, this will be to raise money for a needy cat or cats or rescue so dig out the photos that show your cat off the best, maybe more than one cos for every class you enter you can put a different picture of that cat. Then you will be ready to email them to me when entrance opens. No mini pictures please cos I can resize them, you want your cats to be seen ;D ;D ;D
-
Might I propose a class for 'Cat with best blip under nose', Gill?
-
Ha Ha! Can we pls have a category with cat with best black nose?
he he
-
And pink noses too please
-
mmmm Kitty and Sam, are you suggesting bengal bias here....................or are you trying to stop my babies from winning........I'm on to you!
-
Ha Ha! Can we pls have a category with cat with best black nose?
he he
Definitely must have one for the best bl;ack nose - then I can enter my bridge baby Tiny. I could also enter Korky but as he's all black his doesn't really stand out
-
Just one thing to bear in mind regarding professionally taken photos - entering them into a competition without the photographer's permission is a breach of copyright and useage rights.
The best way around this is to not enter photos taken by someone else - they must be your own work.
-
I dont think this applies to this Witty cos its just a bit off onsite fun ;D
-
It does apply, Gill. Usually pro taken photos are subject to contract regarding reproduction and sharing the images outside of agreed useage. If a photog who has taken pro shots finds his or her work reproduced and shared without permission, it could leave the person who posted the stuff having to pay additional useage fees and / or going down the legal route.
I've had it done to me by a major UK daily paper - it isn't worth even going there.
-
All I can say Witty is that its very sad if you pay tio have pictures taken and then cant do what you like with them, within reason of course :'(
Anyway I will leave the photo thing to the peeps who have had them taken.
What I need now is some suggestions for the name of the class that I need ;D
-
I got a good class =
The best Curly Wurly...heh heh..The codster would be sure to win that one, hee hee
-
Gill, the simple way around that is for the peeps in question to ask permission from the photog. It's that easy. I've just given permission for my local branch of CP to use one of my shots in a newsletter. Thing is, it is a legal obligation to do so - copyright laws and stuff. Basically, you need to cover your arse so that you don't get shot at.
I still think the easiest thing to do (and it is a common requirement in photo comps / photo cat shows because of copyrighting laws) is stipulate that all the entries must have been taken by the person submitting the photos. If you get into trouble, it can get expensive.
Classes - what do you have in mind, Gill? I'd certainly split by colour, and poss by coat length depending on number of entries, then have some additional fun classes as well e.g. cutest kitten, most amusing, caught in the act etc.
-
My goodness you lot , with curly wurly ones, pink noses, black noses........................what about the cats over 15yrs old grrrrrrrrrrrrr ;D
Oh and I for got to say again that Bengals are not tabbies hehehehehe  ummmmmmmmmare they shorthaired cats!
-
My photographer is happy that I enter her pics into the competition so no problem there. :)
-
15years plus
Golden oldies
Purrrfect pensioners :)
-
Thanks T ;D
I just couldnt think of a name, was easy really wasnt it
-
I like purrrrfect pensioners :)
I think it is a good idea to do some "caught in the act" or "best friends" type categories...
Now I just need to get my lot to sit STILL and not look away at the last minute when I am taking a pic like they normally do :innocent: :)
-
Best Toy Attack!
-
Yes Cheese there will be some things like that ;D
Best toy attack lol, thinking ;D
-
Best Snooze
Best Cuddle
Best Feel-Sorry-For-Me Look
Best I'm Disgusted With You Look

-
Brilliant Linda
-
My goodness Linda, you keep trying
-
Cheeky!!
Best bleached paws???
-
Bleached paws???????????????????????? I do hope not!
-
If Linda gets best outbreak of spots, I want bleached paws! How else will the black and whites win anything!
-
Thats barbaric Kitty - how could you! Poor Lexy with a mummy like you :evillaugh:
Some people will got to any length to win!
-
:na na naa na: :na na naa na: :na na naa na:
-
no im all for that, cody gets bleached on a regular basis, i find 40 degree wash also pretty good.
-
mmm, we will soon sort you humans out. If you not gonna play by the rules then neither are we. Bleaching poor Cody and Lexy - as if!
Lenny
-
We dont get bleached cos our paws are naturally nice and white ;D
Franta and Ducha
-
Hmmmm how about a 'best fluffy fat black blob' catagory then I can enter my photos of mOgs coz they never come out as anything beyond fluff and alien eyes :evillaugh:
love
Tab
-
Some of us have huge numbers of cats, I know one pic per cat but what is maximum number of pics per person
-
Spots Linda? Really? Poor Cody and Lexy indeed? How'd we know you aren't painting the "bengals", huh, huh!!
-
Painting the bengals.............AS IF!
Lenny says to remind you Kitty that he does not have spots (well maybe on his tummy). He has a beautiful gold marble :P
-
Teresa, there is no limit on entries other than your pocket!
Cats can be entered in as many categories as are available for them and a different photo can be used in each category for the same cat. People can enter all their cats if they can afford it lol and it falls within the rules.
I am about to post a draft time frame for the Cat Show and some draft rules, but not all at moment.
-
I can see that this could get very catty lol ..
Of course everyone knows that Yumi is the pretiest little kitty in the land !!

-
     ;)
-
Not sure if I have read all the posts here, but its just a thought, is it possible for a few organisations get to benefit from this great idea, or just one?
Perhaps a percentage of the amount could be decided by the winner?
A great idea and i will be digging some lovely photos out of my two (and others) as soon as.
Sharon
-
Thanks Sharon but we have decided, I think whats happening to the money. ;D
I dont know how much will come in from the cat show cos we not done it before but assume it will be less than we get from the other two fund raisers.........................but of course I maybe surprised.....................geezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I am scared now
-
You will see on another thread that Tan has announced where the money from sales of the diary will be going so now its my turn :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
It has been decided that the money raised from the Cat Show will go to a very special cause and to a very special cat whose disabilities need lots of care and very expensive puppypads to help her cos she cant use a litter tray in the same way that other cats do. If you havent guessed yet, the money from the Cat Show will go to Minimopsical who lives permantently at Paws Inn.
Here is gorgeous Mini trying to get her balance and stand up, she was born brain damaged but has a wonderful life at Paws Inn ;D

-
Aww, what a worthy cause!!
Can't wait for the categories to be announced - I can't enter mine into any of the ones said so far, they are even too young for the Purrfect Pensioners category!!
-
Minimopsical is overwhelmed by this wonderful news and I am sitting her teary eyed knowing how much people care for her. She is a very brave little girl who was born cerebral hypoplasia . Minimopsical was 8 days old and almost dead when we rescued her and so difficult to bottlefeed no one really expected her to survive . When she was 10 months old she had some form of stroke and vet wanted to PTS because she went blind and was totally paralysed but thankfully we chose to keep her going and she recovered.
Minimopsical is currently having problems caused by her disability, her teeth are not good because of the way she pecks at food she makes little saliva, and vet is concerned that she may be going into renal failure due to the amount of muscle spasms. But with wonderful people like you how can she not continue to set a shining example.
Minimopsical earns her keep her at the Inn by befriending feral kittens and she is currently hard at work keeping Miss World in her place.
Gill how did you get those photo`s?
Sorry for long post but Minimopsical insisted
-
T, I think you have posted some of those pics for her birthday. There is only the second one that doesn't look familiar
-
But Desley her Birthday was May 1st so on Cat Chat
-
I am sure you have posted pics of her on here - I have defo seen 3 of those posted by you on one of the two forums - memory isn't any better than that though!!
-
She's worth it Teresa, so very happy Mini will get what is needed for her.
-
She is wonderful T. I'm soo glad the money from the cat show will be going to Mimi darlin. :Luv:
So get ya pics ready, get snapping your babes everyone. The more pics you enter, the more we can help our brave Mimi.
-
I do hope everyone will support this Cat Show for MIni cos as you can see from Teresas post she is a very brave and deserving case ;D ;D
I had the photos from CC days, yes I think her birthday maybe cos you sent them to me to post cos of,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,dare I mention it...................the paperclip :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
I also have another two which I was gonna post but site would only let me put 4 on at once and i wanted them all on same post.
-
we can change the 4 only per post if ya like eso now we have a much bigger server space ;D
-
Ummmmmmmmmmm no I think we should leave it, we are gonna need that space for the cat show LOL
-
Fantastic news that all you hard work Gill (and all our cash) will be going to help darling Minimopsical who is a very special girl indeed :Luv:
Dig deep folks and have some fun, its all for an absolutely super girl :Luv:
-
I adore Minimopsical her story is really heart wrenching and amazing that Aunty T has worked so well with her !
-
Quite by chance we came across this picture of Minimopsical when she was 4 weeks old. None of her three litter mates were affected by C.H. and were all rehomed. You can pick Minimopsical out easily with her ginger hood.

-
Tan have emailed you a selection of Minimopsical in her castle for you to drool over.
-
I have nearly sorted all the classes out today so hope to get them up later this week, all things being equal..................which they never are ! ;D ;D
-
Just a quick post to make sure this topic appears in "Show all replies.....
I don't want to miss any news, and I'm even now gathering pics! ;D
-
I feel disadvantaged! because I am rubbish with technology my poor gang will suffer!
-
I expect the judges will look more closely at the cats than the technical expertise. I hope so anyway!
-
I hope so to Dave ;D
I have camera shake and cats wont sit still
-
that's the problem, you've got to have photos to sumbit! I've got about 6 photos on a disk and they've all been used for calendars and diary stuff
-
We'll be able to re-use photos won't we? I can't remember which ones I've used for what!
-
Yes you can reuse photos as long as they are appropriate to the class and if you enter an age competition the current age of the cat qualifies them and the picture does too. ;D
-
I am about to start designing the area for the Classes ready for the Show, every thread will be locked and empty so dont bother looking ;D ;D
